I genuinely thought this model looked dumb as hell when I saw it released, but having recently completed my first unit of six Noise Marines I grabbed the Kakophonist off the pile of shame so I could have a leader for them.
And man he was a blast to paint, no complicated weapons, no crossed arms blocking detail, minimal detail at that. It was ace fun and I think they look pretty rad all together! 🙂

Enjoyed getting this unit done. Slowly making my way towards 1k points so I can get an intro game in for this edition :)
Taking inspiration from Roman Lappat’s YT tutorials on colour theory I’ve been learning how to mix, desaturate, shade, glaze etc with three primary colours - with black and white to help along the way.
It’s been a real fun wee project and a nice change of pace for me as I was getting a bit burned out. I amazed myself with what could be achieved just with the three colours.
It’s a great experiment for anyone to try :) I must admit I need to get better at controlling where my mixes end up on the palette haha.
Now to crack on with a display base (as I don’t have time for gaming these days!) and I’ll then finish the minis off.
