I can’t be the only one who thinks this is off

I started playing Fantasy President Career and noticed a couple things that immediately rubbed me the wrong way.

First, when I selected Barack Obama, the game had his sexuality preset to “Homosexual.” When I checked other presidents like Biden and Trump, sexuality wasn’t preset and the game required me to choose it myself. I’m still playing and documenting what I see, but that is a really strange inconsistency to have specifically on Obama, and it seems intentional.

Then after a making a policy, I took a look at voter reactions. One of the Black voter personas is literally labeled “Black, church elder, Southern,” and her dialogue is written like: “Praise God, child, Obama done gone and spoke some truth here,” followed by a bunch of exaggerated dialect.

I understand creating different personalities, regions, ages, political views, and speech patterns for a political simulator. That can make the game feel more alive. But there’s a difference between characterization and leaning into racial caricaturization

I’m not saying these two screenshots prove what the developers intended. I’m going to keep playing and see whether there’s a broader pattern. But between incorrectly presetting Obama’s sexuality while leaving other presidents open and writing an older Black woman this way, this is a pretty effective way to alienate part of your player base.

Posting the screenshots so people can judge it for themselves.

[TASK] $5 for a 25–30 minute private playtest of a browser music-career sim

I’m recruiting 10 fresh testers for Mic Drop, an unfinished browser-based music-career/life simulation. You’ll create an artist, make career choices, write and release music, and play through the weekly story as naturally as you can.

THE TASK

• Play until you reach week 50 or 25 minutes pass, whichever happens first.

• Then answer a short private questionnaire (about 5 minutes) by Reddit DM.

• Tell me honestly what was clear, confusing, memorable, slow, or made you want to continue.

PAYMENT

$5 USD per completed playtest plus questionnaire. We’ll agree on the payment method before you begin and follow this community’s Rule 7 payment order. Payment is for your time and honest feedback, not for Reddit activity, a positive opinion, public review, testimonial, or store rating.

WHAT I NEED

• You must be 18 or older.

• Desktop or mobile browsers are both useful.

• Please do not apply if you have already played or worked on Mic Drop; fresh eyes matter here.

• No download or purchase is required. Selected testers receive a unique private browser link.

PRIVACY

Before play begins, the build asks for permission to record pseudonymous in-game behavior such as screens opened, button categories, skipped content, timing, game week, resource totals, and where the session stops. It does not record names you type, raw keystrokes, private messages, personal files, microphone, camera, or screen video. Recording can be stopped from inside the game.

TO APPLY

Comment $bid before sending a DM, then tell me:

  1. Whether you usually play management/simulation games, follow music culture, both, or neither.

  2. Whether you would test on desktop or mobile.

I’ll reply privately to selected testers with the unique link and instructions. Ten slots total.

I run a wing spot doing ~$60–70k/month that runs with staff.

Not actively selling, but I’d consider the right offer or bringing in a partner.

Curious how buyers here would evaluate something like that.
