Hello, I am a 31 year old male with a 2.8 GPA in Biology and currently have been working close to 6 years as a SWE for a big investment company. I have some volunteer service since my company gives mandatory PTO for community service and trying to get LoR from prior military officers and possibly state representatives ( people said just emailing them have some success ).
I am planning to attend an absn program next year and I have family members in Japan so I would be happy if I can put Japan as my first choice and get it.
For the Army, I heard it's easy and almost guaranteed to get places like Korea if you ask for it since there's little demand ( especially if you know Korean ). I am wondering if that's the case for Navy nurses for Japan as well?
I graduated back in 2019 with a 2.8 GPA and even attempted a masters program but dropped out with a sub 3 GPA; however, thanks to a combination of good connections, covid hiring boom, and sheer luck, I was able to get a SWE position in Google; however, as I am entering my 5th year, I really don't have any passion for tech in general and still have that desire to be a Dentist.
It's probably a hopeless case and I really should just move on, but what would my prospects be if I did an another masters?
I have heard stories where people would pay to work so they can build time back in the early 2000s. Now in some FB aviation groups, I am seeing it first hand, and tbh the position probably got filled already.
The place has a 15 month commitment so I am wondering from their experience/data most cadets just dip once they hit minimums compared to non-cadets in todays market.
I was playing Japan and realized a noticeable lag so went to look at how the AI was doing and seems like they are literally micromanaging units 1 by 1.
I don't know how this even went through prod because this seems to be a huge problem and probably will make the game unbearable after 1860.
