Nursing degrees

Have any of you applied to NCP with an ADN, vs an ABSN or MSN?

I have a BS in Neuro and masters in healthcare admin and I’m exploring my options. My recruiter said she needs my acceptance letter to be able to apply for September boards but forgot to ask about specific degree.

I’m considering all my options right now. The problem with applying to ABSN or MSN is that I won’t get notified till next year. That’s not to say that I’ll definitely know if I decided to go the ADN route. It would be a lot less $$ than the ABSN or msn.

Trying to narrow down exactly what I want to do.

Thoughts?

Next Steps

So I’m in my 2nd year and I graduate in May 2027. I was seeing what are the next steps leading up to me graduating. What all did you guys do to prepare for ODS and also do you get a list for the locations you want to be stationed at after you complete ODS?

Keeping Nursing Speciality

Quick question in regards to keeping specific speciality within the nursing community. If you are say an ER nurse within the Navy. How many hours do you need to maintain that speciality? If I decided to work in a different field like Interventional Radiology and want to maintain my ER speciality. What are the requirements? If I get a PRN ED position, how many hours would I need to work? Also, how often do you need to do the credentialing process while you are in? I appreciate the help!

Credentialing limbo

Hey guys I've been in the queue for credentialing for going on 4 months. Haven't heard anything from my recruiter in the same time. Trying to go active duty as a new grad nurse. Am I just SOL and have no future with the Navy? I was told credentialing takes a month and it's been almost 5 now. Any tips besides calling my recruiter who has no voicemail set up?

Waitlisted for ODS?

I received this email when I asked about seats opening early for ODS. I was December board, sworn in early January. My understanding is that November/December ODS slots have been filled and I’m essentially waitlisted & can go at any time, like the email says. Does anyone else have any ideas or insight? Not knowing makes me anxious.
