Help with Taxes as a caregiver
Hi everyone. I’m hoping that I can get a few CPA’s or people that know about doing taxes to chime in.
I’m a caregiver, caring for my mother and live in the same home. I received a 1099-NEC from the company facilitating the Medicaid waiver. I have been so confused on the self employment taxes. Am I responsible for these even though I qualify to be exempt under IRS Notice 2014-7? If so (as I’m hoping not), how do I reflect this on my tax forms? I still haven’t filed as this is the 1st year that I’ve done this. Can someone please shed some light on this? I’ve tried looking all over the internet for an answer or guide but haven’t gotten anything 100% helpful.
