Installed Linux Mint a couple months ago, and it was working great, but now my device doesn't seem to recognize it has speakers.
As the title states, my computer doesn't seem to be able to recognize it has built in speakers. In the settings the only output option is "Dummy Output" and no audio plays on any site.
I have googled around and tried some fixes, but so far nothing has worked.
The Device is an Acer Chromebook 315
I am still v v new to Linux and Os's and such, so I imagine fixing it will require more info, if so, do tell and I will provide/update this post with whatever is needed.
(also maybe how to find that info)
Thanks in advance for any aid.
When attempting to install linux mint, it very nearly completes installation, then right at the end it says "unable to install grub in /dev/mmcblk1" I know next to nothing about anything, so googling this issue has returned less than helpful advice.
I've tried restarting the entire process and got the same error.
When it fails the installation, it says "You may continue testing but you need to restart before anything saves" and when I restart it sends me to "Gnu Grub version 2.12 bash like line editing is supported..." etc etc. I don't know what to do on this page and it mostly freezes up.
The computer is an Acer Chromebook 315, but beyond that I don't know anything about it, and the specific version of mint I was attempting to install was Cinnamon via a usb.
Any advice (or a step by step instruction manual for babies) would be greatly appreciated.
