Waterford FC

The Blues were a powerhouse back in the late 60's and early 70', but they haven't won the league since 1973 and the FAI Cup since 1980. How did they fall off the pace so badly, because for me Waterford are a proper sleeping giant of Irish football and it really is about time the giant reawakens from it's slumber again imo.

Which County Is More Likely To Win A Senior All Ireland Next Cork or Waterford?

These are the two Munster counties (unless you count Kerry) with the longest senior all Ireland droughts. I have a bet with a relative from Waterford that i'll pay him 20 Euros if Waterford win one first and vice versa, although perhaps neither of us will be paying out on that bet anytime soon?🤣

Is The Rose Of Tralee The Ultimate Sign That Yet Another Irish Summer Is Over?

It always has been for me especially back in the days when it used to be on the last week of August. I used to hate when it was on back when i was a kid, because it was always the ultimate sign that the summer is over and that another long school year awaits.😒

A Sad Inditement Of The Times

This was posted on the Diecast Models 4 U Facebook page this morning. The owner posted a message saying that's he's keeping the door of the shop closed at certain times of the day due to the ever growing and unchecked anti social behaviour problem around Galway now.

To quote his own words it's easier to keep a certain element out than trying to remove them after they get into the shop. It's a sad state of affairs indeed that businesses around Galway feel the need to resort to these kind of measures. Obviously it doesn't reflect well on the Guards and the so called security in the Corbetts Court mall either.

Edit: Thread title of course should have said sad indictment of the times but unfortunately it can't be changed now.

Very Short Video Of Hurling In Australia

I came across this video on YouTube it's from the 1940's or 1950's most likely. Unfortunately it doesn't last for very long but i found it amusing anyway! Perhaps someone might hopefully upload the full version eventually.
