GCP free trial $300 to use Claude model

Anyone tested this during their free trial time if Anthropic model usage are deducted from the credits or not? Startup credit def. don't cover as per I understand, unless you're on scale tier.

Thanks in advance!

Agent can't see any of my custom MCP servers (only plugin ones show up)

On Cursor 3.9.8 (macOS). My custom MCP servers defined in ~/.cursor/mcp.json show up fine in Settings -> Tools & Integrations: green dot, enabled, and their tools are listed. But when I ask the agent in chat to use one, it says the server doesn't exist - and the only MCP servers it lists as available are the plugin-based ones.

So plugin MCPs (like context7) work in the agent, but none of my mcp.json / stdio servers do. It's like the agent never receives them, even though Cursor clearly launches them and shows them connected.

What I've tried:

- Full quit + reopen
- Reload Window
- Brand-new chats
- Toggling the server off/on
- Removing and re-adding it

Nothing changes. The servers themselves run fine standalone (they launch and expose their tools), so it seems like a registration gap between the MCP settings and what the chat agent actually gets handed.

Cursor chat agent says:

  • It is NOT wired into this chat session. When I attempted the call, Cursor returned: MCP server does not exist. Available servers: cursor-ide-browser, plugin-context7-context7. The project's MCP descriptor folder also only contains cursor-ide-browserplugin-context7-context7plugin-stripe-stripe

But in my cursor setting's mcp.json I can see its installed and active with green dot.

It was working fine just few hours ago.

GCP multiple credits: Free trial + GenAI + GFS, but GFS is being used first?

Anyone dealt with multiple Google Cloud credits on the same billing account?

we currently have:

Free Trial credit, started June 4
GenAI credit, started June 4
Startups Cloud Program credit (GFS), started June 19

The confusing part is that after June 19, my usage seems to be deducted from the GFS credit instead of Free trial credits, even though the Free trial credit still has balance and expires earlier than GFS.

My usage is mostly Cloud SQL, Vertex AI, and Text-to-Speech. Soon we'll have VM once we start migrating. GenAI credit has not moved at all.

Is Google supposed to prioritize GFS credits over Free Trial once GFS becomes active? Google only mentions its based on eligible SKUs, but every SKUs we're using are eligible for 3 of the granted credits.

Trying to understand if there is any way to use the Free Trial credit first before burning the startup credits.

Anyone seen/experienced this before?

20% usage or reclaimed on always free

Quick question about Oracle Cloud Always Free instances.

Oracle doc says, they'd reclaim idle Always Free resources if they're not being used atleast 20%. My setup currently runs 7 containers but average CPU usage sits around 12%. During builds and deployments it occasionally spikes to 40-60%, but those spikes don't last very long.

How exactly does Oracle determine whether an instance is "idle" and eligible for reclamation?

Has anyone here actually had an Always Free Ampere VM reclaimed?

Do I need to intentionally keep CPU usage above 20% most of the time, or are occasional spikes enough to show the instance is actively being used?

curious about the JW Marriott executive lounge. I don’t have elite status or anything, but I’d love to experience it once. If anyone staying there is open to adding me as a guest, I’m happy to cover the visitor fee.

Thanks, just hoping to enjoy the vibe in a respectful way.
