Is this sound normal ?
Let's start from the beginning - I owned a Triumph Speed T4. A while ago, the engine developed an irregular metallic clicking/ticking noise that became more noticeable once the engine warmed up and increased with RPM. The service center inspected the bike and initially suspected an internal engine issue, mentioning that the engine might need to be opened and parts such as the connecting rod assembly could be involved. Because of this, I became quite concerned about the engine's long-term reliability and lost confidence in the bike and eventually decided to purchase a new KTM Adventure 390 (350cc variant) as a replacement.
Now I have a question regarding the engine sound of my new KTM Adventure 390. Compared to the Triumph, the KTM engine sounds quite different and has its own ticking/clicking mechanical noises, especially when idling and after the engine warms up. As someone who recently went through a suspected engine issue on another motorcycle, I'm probably being extra cautious and paying attention to every sound. I've attached a video/audio clip of the KTM. Does this sound normal for the latest Adventure 390 engine, or do you hear anything unusual? I'd appreciate feedback from owners who are familiar with the bike's normal engine characteristics.
Thank you.
