KTM Modified

KTM Modified

I saw this KTM in the reel and it looked so freakin cool like Yamaha Tenere
Any idea how much it'll take to modify like this and what all mods are there

Got the front sprocket clean for the first time after purchase

Okay so i bought my duke250 on 31st dec 2023 and had no idea that we have to open the sprocket cover and clean it while scrolling i saw someone mentioned to do it while doing chain cleaning and lubrication so after more than 2 years its opened up and damn its super messy and greasy it’s like super thick dried grease though in pictures it seems very less but while cleaning that it just comes out and out like a never ending mess. Learnt my lesson to clean that as well

KTM India took booking through a permanently closed dealership — 4 weeks, no refund

Booked a KTM 390 Adventure through KTM India’s official website and selected KTM Jalgaon as the dealer. Later found out the dealer is permanently closed, the contact number on KTM website is wrong, and the showroom is marked shut on Google Maps.

The surprising part? KTM still allows bookings through this dead dealership.

Customer care asked me to contact another dealer (KTM Nashik), who then said KTM has to transfer the booking first. When I again contacted KTM support, they said cancellation/refund can only be done by the original dealer — which literally does not exist anymore.

Every single call ends with:
“Sir, you will get a callback/resolution within 4 hours.”

It has now been 4 weeks. No callback. No refund. No resolution.

This is honestly one of the worst customer support experiences I’ve had with an automobile company. Poor coordination, outdated dealer listings, and absolutely no ownership from customer care.

At this point, I’ve dropped my plan of buying a KTM altogether and am escalating the matter through grievance portals and consumer forums.

Has anyone else faced similar issues with KTM India support or booking refunds?

Now, I have raised complaint on National Consumer Portal (Department of Consumer Affairs)

Probably, I will cancel the plan to buy KTM 390 altogether and will go with RE Himalayan 450.

Confused between the KTM 350cc Adventure and the Scrambler 400X and want opinions from actual owners.

I test rode both and surprisingly the KTM felt very natural to me immediately, almost like I’ve been riding it for a long time. The lighter dynamic feel, suspension travel and overall confidence really stood out to me.

At the same time, the Scrambler felt more mature, comfortable and refined. The seat comfort, softer suspension and low-end torque felt great for daily use and relaxed riding.

My usage:

Pune city riding (not daily commute)

Frequent highway rides (~350 km round trip twice a month)

Weekend rides/touring

Maybe occasional rough roads/light off-road, I want to explore off roading or trail riding

I’m 5’4” and around 65 kg, so manageability matters to me. The Scrambler feels manageable, but the KTM feels even lighter and more confidence inspiring dynamically.

My main confusion is:

Will I eventually appreciate the calm/mature nature of the Scrambler more? OR

Will I regret not buying the more capable and exciting KTM later?

Do you ever feel the Scrambler lacks that “special” or adventure-ready feeling compared to the KTM ADV platform? Or does the comfort/refinement make up for it long-term?

Would really appreciate honest owner feedback after living with the bike for some time.

Query on Tyre Pressure Monitoring System in ADV 350CC

Hi riders, I just wanted to know where you see TPSM in the ADV 350cc console. I have been searching for it on the menu but no luck. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Need a helmet under 6k. Is NHK K5Rthe best or any alternatives?

Hey everyone,

OP bought a Duke 250! Attaching a random screenshot from YouTube since I haven't taken photos of my own bike yet.

My budget is strictly ₹6,000 max (cannot stretch it).

I'm eyeing the NHK K5R because it's light and ECE 22.06 certified.

Are there any better alternatives strictly under 6k, or should I just go ahead and get the NHK?

Thanks!

Can anyone help me with my KTM adventure 350CC dashboard?

Hi guys, I just got my new ADV 350CC 5 days ago and clocked around 500KM. But while checking for the Quickshifter option in the setting, it doesn't provide any switch ON/OFF toggle option. Is there anything like a lock-in period post 1000KM or so?

I would appreciate it if KTM owners could help.me out with this. Also the rest of the functions of possible! One note that these shown options are being displayed within the Extra Functions setting menu not separately.

Edit: Got it! It's under Configure street.

KTM/Husqvarna sales staff is pathetic!

So I booked a svartpilen 401 on April 29th. I know it’s not a bike they move much so I knew there would be a delay to get the bike. Booked it April 29th, took a test ride on may 5th and really liked the bike. They said they’ll have the bike in 7-10 days. May 15th was the quoted delivery date. They said they’ll billing would be done on may 6th. I call them up on may 15th and they say the billing will be done today and the truck is gonna start from the plant that day. Oh and between the 5th and 15th I had called them a couple of times and every time I called they said the billing is gonna be done today and the truck is gonna start. For the last 3 days I’ve been calling them to get a confirmation or some tracking details. The communication from them was abysmal. They don’t lift the calls. I tried calling the company number, the manager and no reply. The times I did reach them, anything I ask they go ‘I’ll find out and let you know in 10 mins’. And they don’t call back at all. Today I call them and they say the bike will be here on the 25th. That was the last straw. I ended up cancelling the bike and I’m gonna go with a guerilla 450. I didn’t mind waiting if they communicated properly at the very least. Absolutely pathetic from them.

Update on shipping KTM Adv390X through Bluedart. Thank you all for the good luck wishes.

I had shipped my motorcycle from OD to BLR through bluedart. Attaching the link to the post on the options i had looked into and why I chose Bluedart.

Also attached below the parcel transit location and time updates from Bluedart.

Thank you to all the well-wishers as well as the ones who shared their valuable feedbacks on my last post. Now let's talk about the actual update.

14/5 - Left my bike at the local bluedart warehouse. They insisted on taking out all the fuel, hence took out some 4L of it. I put 2 in my scooty and gave them the other 2L. I guess that worked out on my favour looking at the awesome packaging they had done later on. Kept the key to myself, didn't wanna risk someone riding my motorcycle out of curiosity.

The bluedart agent through whom I had booked was in constant touch with me throughout until delivery. He himself provided me with all the updates, sometimes at around 2am. Full marks for support.

18/5 - Parcel reached nearby warehouse, and the bluedart guy insisted me to take it from there itself, to minimise additional load unload. Went to warehouse, showed them the Waybill number and proceeded to take delivery. Only downside, they didn't have a ramp to get the motorcycle down. Although carefully, they brought it down through stairs. Thank god it was an adventure bike. Removed all the packaging and Woahhhhh!!! Bike was fine AF. I guess some minute scratches on the leg guard sliders (expected) and the plastic hand guards had slided downwards slightly. Apart from that, not the slightest scratch. Stand had some dirt on it, not scratches. Thanks to the ones commented on my prev post, checked out everything they had recommended. Lucky me, there was a fuel pump in 100m, and i was able to ride it till there.

Seamless experience getting delivered. Not gonna lie, i had my fair share of sleepless nights thinking about all the possibilities. Guess, i used up all my luck to get this beast delivered here.

Thank you to everyone once again. Long live this sub.

TLDR - shipped bike through Bluedart from OD to BLR. Got it delivered within 4 days and without any damages.

Took a test ride of RTX 300

  1. I donno why but it feels sooooo unexciting to ride. Where's the 28 nm torque?? Even hunter feels more punchy than this even with 20nm torque

  2. Waiting period is 4 month

  3. IT WAS NOT A TEST RIDE VEHICLE. They gave me a customers new vehicle by disconnecting the meter. Which is a huge red flag for me. I just took 1 spin and returned as soon i realised what they were doing.

So, rtx is out of my wish list. Thank you tvs for making it this easy

390 Duke R

Just wanted to ask if anyone has taken delivery of the 390 Duke R?

It's been almost 2 months since I booked mine and the showroom has no clue when (or if) they'll receive it.

I have also been in contact with a few different showrooms around my area and everywhere the issue seems to be the same.

Any update is appreciated. TIA.

Need advice on 1st service time vs km limit!

Hey everyone,

I took delivery of a Duke 250 back on April 28th. Since then, the bike has been parked in Bangalore, and I am planning to bring it over to Chennai (where I live and work) by the second week of May.

Right now, the odometer is only at **300 km**. By the time I get it to Chennai and can take it to a service center, it will be around the **40-day mark** from the delivery date, but the kilometres will still be well under the usual 1,000 km threshold.

KTM's official manual usually specifies the first service at **1,000 km or 45 days**, whichever comes first.

I have a couple of questions:

  1. **Warranty Risk:** If I do the first service at ~40 days with only around 300 km on the odometer, will the service center accept it? Or will they tell me to go ride it more first?

  2. **The "Whichever Comes First" Rule:** Should I strictly get it serviced before the 45 days are up just to keep the warranty intact, even if the engine oil hasn't seen much usage?

Is it completely fine to go to the service center and get the first service done when the bike is well under 1,000 km (around 300 to 500 km)? Will they accept the bike and change the oil, or do I strictly need to complete more kilometres first?

Thanks in advance!
