Bike not touching top speed

I have a duke 250, and have done 12k kms on it, and the bike isn't crossing 145kmph. Is there any problem or is that the top speed of the bike

Please recommend. This is gonna be my 1st bike so don't wanna regret.

I'm planning to buy a duke 250 gen 3 in about 1 month. But one thing I'm sceptical about is whether I should buy it or wait for an update.

Duke 250 got the mechanical and structural update ( chassis, body and engine ) in SEPTEMBER 2023.

And after a year - TFT and headlight ( not as major as September 2023 )

Even the headlight throw isn't satisfactory.

Now it's been 2 yrs and there is no such update except colour .

Also in its competition there are bikes like ns400z , triumph T4/speed ( 350cc remodeled)

Bajaj's own n160ss got some good features a week ago and those gonna spread to it's other segment for sure.

Apache rtr310 also got 25k gst price reduction.

( This has some serious electronic package TPMS, cruise , riding modes , etc )

All I wanna say is that , now duke is at a competitive side so idk expecting an update is logical or not.

Also there are rooms for improvement - (from my pov )

Headlight brightness.

Exhaust note .

Adjustable levers ,

Crawl feature ( if not cruise control - rtr310 have this)

Traction control.

Low end jerkyness

At last i know its a performance segment bike and these features might not even a thing to complain about... But sometimes it's emotions too ...of not regretting and too when i can wait ( yeah not indefinitely)

Pop/Clicking noise in KTM DUKE 250 2024 model.

After washing my bike, I noticed this tik-tik/clicking sound near the spark-plug area during a cold start. The bike eventually stalls by itself. Once it fully dries, the sound disappears.
What could be causing this, and what’s the solution?

Ktm duke 250 gen 3 engine noise problem?

Hello 👋

I am facing engine noise problem on my ktm duke 250 gen 3, the engine sounds nice and smooth on morning cold starts, as engine heats up after riding few kilometers the engine making ticking or rattling noise as shown in the vedio, i checked with ktm service centre, the technician told me its head noise but service engineer argued with that the noise is common and its there in all the bikes, so people who own can share your thoughts on this please.

Also, my bike was kind of viby when baught new, specially on footpegs, seat and more vibes felt on left side seat and tank panel, but runs smooth in the rpm range of 5.5k to around 8k plus rpms, riding in the city makes my bum go numb after 10min but highway feels much better, i dont know if the vibrations problem is bcoz of this engine head issue

Owners if possible share the vedios of the same after engine warms up.

Thank you.

Duke 350 (Gen 3) quality concerns or am I overthinking? Parents saying look elsewhere

Hey everyone, long time lurker here. Finally at the booking stage for a Duke 350 (non-R) from Mekhri Circle KTM, Bangalore. Test rode it, loved it, felt right. I'm settled on it.

But my parents are pushing me to look at other options. Their concern is build quality and reliability the usual "KTM has issues" talk. I've been daily riding a Himalayan 450 (family's) so I'm not new to bikes, I know how to maintain, regular service, lubes, the works.

Few things I want genuine owner opinions on:

The E20 fuel compatibility situation is it actually causing real world issues for Duke 350 owners in Bangalore or is it mostly forum noise?

Build quality day to day plastics, electricals, general fit and finish on the Gen 3. I know one in thousands faces serious issues but what's the realistic ownership experience been like?

The alternatives my parents keep suggesting are the usual suspects Guerrilla 450, Speed 400, maybe the ADV. I've already gone through all of them mentally. I keep coming back to the Duke for the adjustable suspension, brakes, quickshifter, and the flat foot advantage at my height (5'10"). Nothing else in the budget ticks all those boxes together.

Not looking to be talked out of it just want real owner data to either confirm I'm making the right call or hear something genuinely worth considering that I might have missed.

Bangalore riders especially welcome. Thanks.

First Bike – KTM 390 Adventure | Need Gear Recommendations Under ₹20K

Hi KTM family!

I’ve just bought my first bike, the KTM 390 Adventure, and I’m really excited to start riding. I’m a complete beginner with only a basic understanding of riding, so I’d really appreciate some advice from experienced riders.

I have a budget of around ₹20,000 for riding gear and need recommendations for:

Helmet

Riding jacket

Riding pants

Riding shoes/boots

I’m looking for good safety and value for money, rather than just the cheapest options. If possible, please suggest specific brands/models that are suitable for a beginner and available in India.

Also, if you think I should prioritize certain gear first within this budget, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice! 🙏

Ktm adv 250

Does anyone here own a KTM Adventure 250 newer model? I need some help. How is your bike performing when the coolant temperature is below 75°C? Do you notice any difference in power between low engine temperature and normal operating temperature?

BOOKED!!

I just booked the ktm adv 390 ebony black and I am so excited. I was wondering if there is anything I should look out for once it's delivered and if there are any essential accessories that i should buy? Also, i test rode the bike and the seat was indeed not too good. It was hard, if i compare it to the rtx. Should I go for the touring seat or an after market seat modification?

350cc adv VS 399cc adv X

I’ve booked the 350 ADV in Ebony Black!
I had the chance to test ride both the Duke 390R and the ADV 350, and in city conditions, they felt quite similar. I wanted to get a feel for both the 350 cc and 399 cc models.
If there are any ADV 399 cc owners out there who have also experienced the 350 cc ADV, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Confused between KTM 390 Adventure X, 390 Adventure S and Himalayan 450

Hey guys,

I'm planning to buy an ADV and I'm a bit confused between these three:

- KTM 390 Adventure X 398cc

- KTM 390 Adventure S 398cc

- Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

I already own an R15 V3 and I'm not planning to sell it, so this bike will be more for touring, long rides, bad roads, mountain trips and maybe some light/no off-roading.

I'm mostly interested in the KTM 390, but I'm confused about whether the S is actually worth paying extra for.

From what I understand:

390 X

- Alloy wheels

- No suspension adjustment

- No cornering ABS

- More road-focused

- Cheaper

390 S

- Spoke wheels

- Adjustable suspension

- Cornering ABS

- More electronics

- Better suited for rough roads/off-road(you know Indian road is not less than a rough trail)

The Himalayan 450 is also on my list, but honestly I'm more inclined towards the KTM because of the engine and overall package.

Since I already have the R15 for normal/sporty road riding, would you guys recommend spending the extra and getting the 390 S, or is the X good enough?

Also, for anyone who has ridden both X and S — how noticeable is the difference in suspension and handling in actual riding?

Would love to hear from owners rather than just spec-sheet comparisons.

Joined the orange family 2 weeks ago, dropped my bike today

Title - i was climbing a small slope in traffic in the rain, the bike slid on the slope and fell slowly on it’s left side.
Im good, the boke left handle has a few scratches.

Now, i keep hearing a sound when i’m wearing the helmet - when the bike is stationary and i move it i only hear the sound of the petrol crashing in the tank.
Should i get it checked out in the service centre?

I only hear the sound at 1st or 2nd gear or at sudden bumps/brakes.

Should i be worried and more careful? This is my first bike - not very sure how i should be feeling about falls/drops.

Small upgrade, big difference. 🏍️ Grip Puppy

Installed Grip Puppy on my KTM 390 ADV and the difference in comfort is honestly noticeable. The thicker, softer grip has taken away the finger tingling I used to get on longer rides.

More cushioning, better comfort, less vibration — definitely one of those simple upgrades that makes riding more enjoyable.

Finally, years of waiting and researching were worth it! ❤️‍🔥🏍️

Finally, years of waiting and researching were worth it! ❤️‍🔥🏍️
Finally brought home my KTM Adventure 390 (ADV 390) after a LOT of research, comparisons, and waiting. Honestly, the bike already feels amazing! The power delivery is really good, and for city riding, I feel the power is more than enough. Still getting used to the bike, but so far, absolutely loving the experience! 😍
Since I’m a beginner with the ADV 390, I’d really appreciate some tips from experienced owners especially regarding riding techniques, maintenance, things to keep an eye on, and common mistakes to avoid.
One thing I noticed during my first few rides:
I somehow feel the bike is slightly pulling towards the left. I’m not sure if it’s just me getting used to the bike or if there could be some wheel/handlebar alignment issue.
For experienced owners:
How can I properly check if the bike has any alignment issue?
What could cause the bike to pull slightly to one side?
Should I get the wheel alignment/handlebar alignment checked at the service centre immediately?
Any other things I should check during the initial days?
Would love to hear tips & advice
Finally, the wait is over. The adventure begins! 🏔️🏍️🔥

Adventure 390 (350cc) over himalayan ?

Adventure 390 (350cc) over himalayan ?

Hey so I'm a college student currently pursuing MBBS in a govt college, I was in search of a bike that met my requirements, and since my towering height of 6.4 feet with a bulk build it was very hard for me to search up bikes ultimately my eyes fell upon the adventure and scrambler section and I narrowed down to the following list

  1. Himalyan 450

  2. Adventure 390(350) ebony black

  3. Triumph scrambler 400x

  4. rtx 300

  5. Yezdi adventure (💀 yes yezdi)

My budget was around 4 lakhs

And mostly I would ride it to college and being from northeast I would travel to mountains valleys for rides

I would be riding mostly sole with fellow sole riders

So pillion comfort is a not a topic for me

At first I thought of himalyan 450 I rode it, it was a beast but I found the bike a bit shorter and riding position uncomfortable for my height and also difficult in traffic maneuver but that bike was hell a lot of road presence and I could the royalness straight, ofcourse it was a beast it was my dream bike from many years

But the next day my father took me to this ktm showroom where I saw this adventure 390 I took a seat and I instantly realised due to the high handle bars that riding position was much comfortable for me and during the test ride the easy pick-up and easy maneuver was an add on along with the cruise control riding modes quick shifter were working flawlessly plus it was a available at a less price and with tubeless tires which none were in the himalyan on the down side the seat wasn't so much comfortable and it was around 100 cc less than the himalyan, I don't whether it would impact in the long run and as much I have heard the ktm service centre is not up to the mark of royal enfield

So I'm curious to know what should I consider

Opinions are welcome adventure 390(ebony black) himalyan 450 kaza brown and remember money or budget is not the issue here
