10 months flew by with my ktm adv 390X

Ownership has not been cheap on the pocket, creating this post just to share what all major ownership costs I have incurred and what all can any prospective owners expect

Regular service -

3 (free) services done and fourth one pending. First 2 services cost me around 2k and third one cost me 3k

So total of 7-8k you can expect to spend on service alone at KTM svc during your regular services.

Running expenses -

At 10km my first cone set went bad - replacement cost 400 for coneset and 600 for labor - 1k

At 16k kms again cone set went bad - replacement cost 2200 at FNG

At 16k kms tyre set was changed again to apollo tramplr XR - total cost 9.5k including balancing and installation and replacement of cush rubbers

At 16k kms chain finally gave up, sprockets had some life left but chain was completely cooked, this is after good maintenance and constant adjustment I just think OEM chain is really poor quality, u need to adjust it frequently. Total cost 2.5k for chain + sprockets set + 1.2k labor at FNG 3.7k total

Front stock organic brakepad was swapped for brembo sintered pads from interceptor 650 twice first at 3.5k and now again at 16k total cost 2k + 2k 4300 total including install

Bashplate was damaged after hitting a log - 80 rs bracket + 5.8k for bashplate(s) I went through 2 of them, u can just take this as miscellaneous expenses cuz u will also encounter stuff breaking cuz of offroad. So ~6k

Total running expenses - 26700

Fuel expenses is the biggest one - 16k kms, if u take lifetime avg of 20kmpl which is around what this gives in city traffic plus when u gun it on highway

16k/20 = 800L, around 110 avg price of petrol over 10 months gives u ~88k spent on petrol

Additional costs to be incurred in first year of ownership - insurance renewal around 6-7k

Major paid service, will cost around 6k

So remainder expenses 12k

So in total such a bike will cost you around 7k + 26700 + 88k + 12k = 1.33L to run, including fuel and insurance renewal over the course of a year and 16k kms

That roughly translates to around 11k per month to run

So keep these expenses in mind when u buy a 400cc bike and actually want to experience it to your fullest!

Selling RE Roadster Helmet as I have too many helmets and this one has just been sitting a box since I applied a new visor.

Has been used as a passenger helmet, not used extensively, around a year old

Few surface scratches on the paint from constant moving but no deep scratches/no damage to shell or eps foam. Helmet looks quite nice. Helmet has been cleaned recently with paddings washed and stored in a box with silica packets.

I've attached a brand new visor but helmet has never seen use since so it's just been sitting.

Has a micrometric buckle lock, removable paddings for easy cleaning.

Selling this as I'm running out of space to keep it and have gotten better helmets now.

I got an aftermarket bashplate for my KTM adv 390 from zana cuz stock one cracked after an impact and it was out of stock at all service centers.

Reason for buying Zana was because this was the only bashplate available in india that didn't need the stock mounting brackets cuz even those were bent for me.

On the 2nd day of owning this bashplate the right side mount seemingly snapped in half during a normal road ride. Probably due to the fatigue induced cuz of vibrations being higher than whatever the endurance limit for this garbage is.

Now since I had no other options and the OEM brackets and bashplates were unavailable in all of Maharashtra i continued using this since it has 2 brackets, even if this one cracked atleast the bashplate is still attached. But to my surprise when I took this apart for cleaning, one of the two rubber washers has completely melted cuz of exhaust heat.

You would figure someone with atleast half a brain at Zana would figure to use more heat resistant plastic washers but nope, so please save your money from these stupid Indian aftermarket parts manufacturers who put 0 R&D or any thought into their products

First post, seeing a lot of backpack related posts so thought about giving some commendations to one of my favorite packs. This is a Quechua MH100 20L and its easily the best sub 3k daypack for travel and short hikes.

Big credit goes to the excellent straps and waist belt, the straps on this are decently stiff and didn't go mushy over 5-6 months of use. Waist belt is large and buckles are solid. Strap placement on the backpack along with the shape of the straps is what makes it so easy to walk with, but the waist belt is a must cuz it takes majority load off your shoulders.

While walking, this feels weightless, primarily why I also used it for short trips where I had to walk alot.

For those of you on a motorcycle, this also has the best ventilation system with 4 large pads creating a cross cavity, lot of space between your back and the backpack, doesn't get sweaty even in summers. There's also some very well placed hydration bladder routing.

The only con is that it's not really meant for heavy weights or fragile electronics. The fabric is relatively thin and starts to sag as soon as you put something really heavy and rigid into it, like a gaming laptop or camera gear.

If you're considering this, please define your purpose, this backpack works best with lighter loads, you can use it for EDC, but it will struggle with laptops over 14in. I think these hiking packs work best for clothes, i travelled a lot with this as a carry on cuz it's not obnoxious nor is it hard to walk with unlike other more basic backpacks which have very basic straps.

Im making a few tweaks and I was told this notch is supposed to line up with the joint in the clamp but can you guys send pictures of how this circular notch lines up on your bikes for reference

@autocar_india shows that E85 provides much lower mileage in flex fuel vehicles and with its current pricing makes absolutely no sense to buy for anyone commuting. Sooner or later, this will be forced down our throats, just like every other policy is, the 20rs saving compared to regular E20 fuel is the biggest lollipop given to the public

I'm selling my riseX pivotable handlebar risers, these are for the ktm adv 390 but they can work for any 28mm handlebar.

These are cnc machined, pivotable aluminium risers which give a 2" rise over stock, can be pivoted towards or away from rider to allow for adjustment for your own stance.

Bought for 2900, selling for 1500 (negotiable) cuz I'm moving to a custom mount and bar setup and these don't work with them, I've only used these for 3 rides but i literally have no use for them.

Also they do not collide with the tft.

I've been alarmed by the huge number of posts here and on Instagram about these gloves so here is a review of my axor gator gloves, I've been using them for the past 10 months, almost daily. While this seems like a good glove initially, please do not waste your money on this, in 10 months this has turned into landfill material.

On paper, it almost had everything, pinky bridge, honeycomb knuckle protectors, dual sliders in the correct places. But here's the kicker, while this glove has all the features, it just isn't made well or with the right materials.

Axor uses a mix of mesh, normal fabric and artificial leather. Stitching these 3 together is already a nightmare and ofcourse this glove isn't made well cuz it's very cheap ~2.3k.

In a lot of places my stitching has just failed completely, letting small gaps form which stretch when I close my wrist. Left side pinky bridge has also started to come apart. Furthermore this fabric and fake leather mix isn't going to do much to save your palms in a slide, it'll rip right through. The "leather" has already started to tear from the hard plastic slider underneath it, so you can imagine its strength in a crash lol, also the sliders have very little backing, usually sliders are backed by foam or a small cushion of impact armor, but here the sliders dig straight into your palm cuz there's absolutely nothing backing them.

Do yourself a favor, spend more and get a glove with a proper REAL leather palm. For full gauntlets i think the cheapest one is reise Rhodes, but I'd say spend and get something like the viaterra holeshot atleast.
