Advice on how to transition this shallow peak
Unfortunately didn't get any measurements or photos. Helping out family on a small wood shed (8x8) with a failing roof. Full demo on the sheathing and shingles, looking to replace with 29ga steel corrugated roofing over new OSB and underlayment. It would be simple with a single slope, however it has this small (~1 1/2') awning overhanging the front which makes an unfortunate complication.
So essentially my main rub and reason for posting is to ask how you would conjoin these angles. What I've crudely drawn is the longer, main run of the roof overhanging the awning, but I could see that leading to water permeation. Would a ridge cap like the one in the second photo work for such a shallow transition?
Any advice is appreciated. I have experience in basic single slope roofing, some siding, and spent a couple years doing carpentry. Just want to make sure this is done right so there won't be more issues down the line
