Do later-production B-Die OC better?

As title suggests, I'm wondering if later-production b die OC better. There are people out there saying that b die made in and after 2020 OC much better than those made before 2020. Obviously that's a big claim since there are tons of manufacturers using B die and they all have different binning process, but my personal experience kind of corroborates this claim.

The KLEVV BOLT 4000 DJR 8*2 that were made in 2021 can do 490 TRFC on my Z490 ACE board. I later bought a KLEVV 2666 8*2 kit made in 2023 that come with DJR, and these can do 460 TRFC, even with lower voltage. Bear in mind that these are the worst-binned DJR since they are on a 2666 kit, and they still easily beat the best-binned DJR kit made 2 years ago. Just some food for thought. Anyone with experience with multiple B dies in different production runs, feel free to chime in!

Any good Z690/Z790 boards for DDR4?

I'm on a 10th gen platform right now. Have been considering moving to a 14th gen platform but the lack of good OC-focused DDR4 boards makes me hesitant. The only DDR4 board with 2 DIMM slots that I can find is the gigabyte Z690i Aorus DDR4. But given that gigabyte Z490 OCs the worst out of the big 3 (no power down mode option, worse timing with b-die), I'm not that confident about it. For those who own it, does the board support disabling power down mode? Any other DDR4 boards with good OC headroom?

PSVR1 experiencing distortion when lens sits too close to face

I got a PSVR1 a few days ago as a PCVR headset. Not the most common way to use it I know, but I'm curious how it compares against my PSVR2. setting it up on the PC with Ivry PSVR driver I noticed something really weird. As I move the lenses closer to my eyes the top, left and right section all begin to warp and distort. The headset is literally only useable if there's some distance between the eye and the lens. The PSVR2 doesn't have this issue at all, I can literally press my eyes right against the lenses and FOV would keep getting bigger with 0 downsides. I have scoured the internet and found only 1 mention of this problem. So I gotta ask, is this an ivry driver issue or does this happen when connected to a PS4 as well?

PSVR1 how far away should the lenses be from my eyes?

First of all big thanks to the developer. Without your work there wouldn't be a way to use PSVR1 as a steamVR headset. Now I don't know if this happens only when the PSVR1 is connected to a PC, but I can only get a good image if the lenses are on the furthest setting away from my eyes. As I move the lenses closer, the up, left and right side all begin to warp and distort. It's very hard to explain what it is and it almost feels like as your eyes get closer and FOV gets bigger, you start to see things that you aren't supposed to see. I have scoured the internet and found exactly 0 post about this issue, and btw I own a psvr2 as well and it is not a problem at all on that headset. You can move the lenses as close to your eyes as you can, you get bigger FOV and 0 downsides. So is this an ivry problem, or does PSVR do this on the PS4 as well?

A few days ago I got myself a psvr2 with the PC adapter. I was absolutely blown away by the visuals but a few issues stood out to me. First, the sweet spot is absolutely tiny. Nothing looks right unless my eyes are in the dead center of the lenses. Second, I don't know if it's mura or SDE, but looking around I do notice a constant pattern on the screen as if I'm looking at things through dirty lenses. Other than these 2 issues I'm happy with it. No problems at all with resolution.

Now as to why I'm considering getting a PSVR1:

  1. aspherical lenses, so sweet spot should be much bigger.
  2. Stripe RGB vs Pentile. I've read quite a lot about this and it seems that PSVR2 uses pentile display to cheat resolution, on top of that it uses a filter to reduce SDE, which makes things look softer and less sharp. I am aware that PSVR1 is a much lower resolution display, but given the much better pixel layout and the absence of any filters, it should even things out?
  3. Colors. There are threads where people who own both compared them side by side, and some think PSVR1 actually has better colors than PSVR2.

For people who own both, what do you think? I don't game much and primarily watch movies. Any feedback appreciated! And no I'm not considering other devices because cost and OLED😇
