I'm trying to create a battlemap that I can change on the fly based on players' decisions.

Firstly, I know this sub is mostly for in-person, physical objects. I play online over Roll20. But I need the kind of creative solutions that DIY-ers like yourselves are good at, so I hope this post isn't too out of place.

I have an ambitious idea for a one-shot that involves my players creating a world as they travel through it. At certain points, they will be asked questions that shape the new world being born. "You see a terrifying creature, what does it look like?" "You find the perfect place to rest, describe it to me." Now I'm wondering how to handle the battlemap.

Of course, the easiest way would just be to rely on theater of the mind. But I enjoy making detailed maps. My other thought is to try and make as many "themes" ahead of time as I can think of and just pull out whatever is closest in the moment--a desert map, a swamp map, a city map, etc. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Does the disclaimer "Do not take [medication] if allergic" in ads actually do anything? (USA)

Ads for medications always say not to take it if you are allergic. They all do it, so I assume there's a reason, but I'm having trouble wrapping my head around how that would actually impact liability. The way I see it, either the company properly lists their ingredients/potential allergens, or they don't. If ingredients are listed and someone has a reaction because they didn't know they were allergic (or because their doctor didn't read the ingredients), then that doesn't seem like something the company would be liable for in the first place. If they don't disclose their ingredients and someone has a reaction that could have been avoided, then I don't see how the disclaimer would protect the company. What am I missing?

Warning about the Wolf Queen quests--do this before you exit! (Mild spoiler warning)

>!At a certain point in the Wolf Queen quests, you will encounter some rotating doors controlled by levers that make a horrible grinding sound. For the love of god, stop the doors before you leave. Otherwise you will continue to hear that horrible grinding sound inside the Blue Palace and Proudspire Manor. If any of the doors have stopped moving on their own, you may have to trigger them to spin again and then stop them in order for the sound to stop.!<

Anyone else encounter this or did I just get a bug?

Saying "tomatoes are actually fruits, not vegetables!"

It's confusing two different usages of the word "fruit." In botanical terms, the fruit is a specific part of the plant. And yes, it includes tomatoes--also zucchinis, cucumber, eggplant, squash, peppers, etc. There is no part referred to as "the vegetable of the plant." "Fruits and vegetables" are culinary terms. "Fruit, stem, leaf, root, etc." are botanical terms. Saying that tomatoes aren't vegetables because they're the fruit of the plant makes as much sense as saying carrots aren't vegetables because they're actually roots, or celery isn't a vegetable because it's actually a stem, or lettuce isn't a vegetable because it's actually a leaf. When we say "fruits and vegetables" we're talking in culinary terms, not botanical classifications, and tomatoes are treated as vegetables.
