cine 7 with bolt 500/sidekick vs 703 bolt

hey there, looking to upgrade my monitoring and wireless set up, ive put my choices down to either a cine 7 with a built in bolt or the 703 bolt, was originally going to get a standard tx and rx but ultimately felt a monitor with built in rx would suit me better, im leaning more towards the cine 7 due to it being more recent, however i would prefer the physical buttons on the 703 bolt, im just more worried about the age of the 703 bolt with firmware and whatnot. but would love opinions

teradek bolt sdi port issues

hey there bought a bolt 1000xt, however on the receiver one of the middle bits of the B sdi port bends whenever i attach an sdi cable, ive tried different cables and it happens over and over again, i havent been able to test the connection of the sdi to see if the port works, but is this something to be concerned about?

Smallhd 702 touch vs cine 7

currently looking to upgrade from my atomos monitor to a smallhd, ive narrowed it down to either a 702 touch or a cine 7, i would be using the monitor for mostly pulling but sometimes camera operating, thats why i havent gone with a indie 7. i plan on mounting my bolt 1000xt on the back of the monitor with v mount so im leaning for towards the cine 7 due to its better build quality, however that, the camera control and the 300 more nits doesnt seem to be justifying the 200-300 more id have to pay for it. would like peoples opinions

Cine 7 + 1000xt rx v mount

hey all, im planning on upgrading to a cine 7 and 1000xt 1:1 set, my plan is to have a v mount solution on the cine 7 and the 1000xt, and then mounting the rx on the back of the cine 7 with a v mount to power both. my worry is the weight of both the rx unit and v mount on the back of the cine 7s v mount plate and if i should worried about that and go down a different route for mounting

smallhd indie 7 vs 702 oled

currently using a shinobi to pull and finally wanting an update to something larger and sharper, my options smallhd wise is the indie 7 or 702 oled, i've heard the indie 7 isn't colour accurate and its ui is rather laggy, but my experience with the 702 oled hasnt been great with its build quality and its age, i may be able to push for a cine 7 which i know is a better pick than both, however if it comes down to picking between the indie 7 or 702 oled whats the better pick and why

Arri monitering lut

film student here, was wondering about monitoring luts on bigger sets specifically with arri's. Do sets use a premade monitoring lut that is somewhat similar to the final grade, or do they monitor in rec 709 or with a arri look from the look library? will be shooting on an alexa mini soon so im wondering what the best practice is for monitoring and if this changes for when exposing a shot

2 grades

2 slightly different grades, trying to go for more for a dreamy filmic look on the second one and more depth orientated digital look on the first. Rec 709 is the 3rd image for comparison

Alexa mini best recording formats

hey there, currently in film school, shooting some self spec ad studio work with an alexa mini next week, havent been able to find a lot of information on the 4k upscale that the camera can achieve in prores. what is the best resolution and format to shoot in for the camera?, from looking into what i could it seems most productions shoot 3.2k prores 4444 or 442 hq? 4444 is definitely overkill for what im doing but some info on its resolutions and if the 4k upscale is any good would be great

hey there, doing kit list prep for a indie shoot in a couple weeks, what are the differences between the bolt 500 and 500lt, i know the 500xt is a more richer feature set device, but it seems like we are having to lean towards the bolt 500 or 500lt and im wondering what are the differences between both devices, any information would be great
