Hey, as a new person at QUT, I find the social and cultural environment here quite odd. I’ve noticed that people barely interact with each other. I’m not sure if it’s specific to my master’s program, but I find it kind of unamusing.
One of my friends at UQ said there’s much more interaction among students and way more club and social activities there. I went to a club event here, and only five people showed up. I also went to a trivia night, but it seemed like people already had their own circles, and it was quite difficult to get into them.
Any suggestions on how I could improve my social experience here? Or do you think it’s partly my fault?

Helloo.. im new to QUT, so is there any ways for me to connect with people playing football and basketball other than joining the clubs. I just want to play for fun. Thanks

Hey, im a new international student at qut. Usually for me it is kinda not thatt hard to make friends but here im struggling a bit. Any advice on how to make new friends or to make good networks around at qut? Would be a good help!!! Thanks

My master’s classes commences on 20th, i am not able to know my orientation day, where to find out. I checked my qut app and site , nothing mentioned in calendar.

Hey iam new student moving to Brisbane, which areas or suburbs should i need to avoid, which areas have more crimes or have social issues?

Hello iam travelling to brisbane next week, i heard its not that cold there, i only have few(1-3) winter type of clothes, is that enough? Is winter clothes expensive down there ?

Any suggestions on what to do in the orientation week and how to meet colleagues. And also can I access the student account already or should i wait till reaching there ?
