[NA East] [PS/XBOX] [Bronze-Plat] [Controller] [Siege Cup]
Looking for people to play Siege Cup with on Console Controller.
I'm currently in Gold 2 so Bronze-Platinum is probably best for a team. Feel free to DM as long as you are not super ragey.

Not Using Her Top Floor You Can Ban Kaid Lil Bro
I was ordering Chipotle earlier this week (live in Toronto for context) and noticed that Mexican Coca-Cola wasn't available to order. I checked maybe 1-2 other restaurants in my delivery area and also the one in my university city because I was curious and they also didn’t have it. Has it been discontinued across Canada? - I couldn’t find any information online.
The last time I can remember having it was maybe around Christmas time last year.
This week, Ubisoft released changes to the ranked system where, “As of right now - more Ranked Points will be given for wins in the earlier ranks”
How it works now is that in lower ranks a Win gives you ~30-45 RP and a Loss takes away ~25 RP - meaning that you now don’t need to be playing well in your rank (a 50%+ win rate) for you to rank up.
Here’s how your RP would change over different 10-game results:
New 3.0 RP System - (+40/-25)
| Wins | Losses | RP Gain/Loss |
|---|---|---|
| 7 | 3 | 205 |
| 6 | 4 | 140 |
| 5 | 5 | 75 |
| 4 | 6 | 10 |
| 3 | 7 | (55) |
As you can see, even with a losing record you will rank up under the new system.
Now every 40%+ level player in Bronze/Silver will be pushed up to Gold/Plat creating an artificial amount of people in the middle/slightly high ranks. The players that were in Gold/Plat already will win more against the new lower-skill opponents in their rank and move to Emerald, etc. All this does is create rank inflation.
This is different to the initial system where a 50% win rate is neutral, a 50%+ win rate allows you to rank up, and a sub-50% win rate causes you to fall. This follows most elo systems (like Chess for example) where you only move up in elo if you are winning most games against your current elo level.
Original 3.0 RP System - (+25/-25)
| Wins | Losses | RP Gain/Loss |
|---|---|---|
| 7 | 3 | 100 |
| 6 | 4 | 50 |
| 5 | 5 | 0 |
| 4 | 6 | (50) |
| 3 | 7 | (100) |
There is a somewhat fair criticism that if you are winning at a high rate (~60%) in your rank it is still too slow to move up. For example in the initial 3.0 system it would take 20 games at a 60% win rate to gain 100 RP (one rank).
I think that if Ubisoft wanted to address this then they could have changed the RP system to be more accelerated, but still evenly balanced in terms of increasing/decreasing.
Potential Accelerated RP System - (+50/-50)
| Wins | Losses | RP Gain/Loss |
|---|---|---|
| 7 | 3 | 200 |
| 6 | 4 | 100 |
| 5 | 5 | 0 |
| 4 | 6 | (100) |
| 3 | 7 | (200) |
In this system at a 60% win rate it would take 10 games to increase each rank so that if you are truly at the wrong rank after placements, this will be adjusted more quickly.
Overall, I think the changes are a very weak move to placate the crowd that is upset that their rank isn’t as high as they want. Now Bronze, etc players that win at a ~50% rate (meaning that they are in the correct rank) will get to rank up just by playing and not by improving.
For me personally, this is my first season playing ranked (I have been at a low-high of Bronze III - Silver III) and my goal was to hit Gold 1 by the end of the season. I was really focused on improving aim, map knowledge, tricks, etc to gain extra edge to convert a higher % of games. A lot of my interest in playing ranked is diminished knowing now that I will be able to hit this rank through pure playing volume even if I don't improve my skill level by much.
Interested in hearing other people's thoughts on the change and what their ideal ranked/elo system would look like.
Edit Note: From Copper-Gold the RP gain for wins is mostly in the +30-45 range not 50 (table adjusted to reflect). At +35/-25 for example, a 45% win rate still ranks you up though so the problem with rank inflation is present.
