Tag Discussion

How do you guys personally utilize tags? I am looking for some inspiration. :) I just use it right now to primarily tag which transactions are during which of my pay periods. So I have 1 tag for Pay Period 1, another for Pay Period 2, and then a tag for "Paid" for my credit cards so I can keep track of which transactions are paid off.

I feel like I am missing out on some cool ways to tag things, though; would love to hear ideas!

Are extra supplements needed when on PPP?

Hi guys,

I recently adopted a 10 month old American Bully x APBT mix and have him started on the Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach, Salmon and Rice Formula. I plan to keep him on the adult version when the time comes. I do already have him on Dasuquin for joint support as he has some joint issues already due to malnutrition at an early age.

I may be getting lost in the marketing of dogtok and instagram. Is it needed to have him on a multivitamin, omega-3 oil, or itchy skin supplement if he is on a great kibble? He does have seasonal allergies that I manage easily with benedryl but would like to taper off of that if an extra supplement can help curb that with antihistamine support.

I just want to ensure he is getting everything he needs, especially since he was severely malnourished in his early years.

In memory of Goober

We lost our good boy Goober this May to unexpected and extremely aggressive lymphoma. It was probably the worst experience of my life- his face was blown up and swollen randomly that Sunday morning. Struggled to breathe. He passed at home, on our couch that he loved, with us surrounding him and his sister, Marlo, at his side.

He lived a wonderful, funny, and chaotic 12 years and I miss him everyday. Today I’m plagued by memories of him and missing him.

Like all bassets, he was stubborn. But he was hilarious and made us laugh every day.

Love and miss you Mr. Goober! Marlo isn’t the same without you.

Guilt over adopting a new dog after having a special bond with my first dog

This might be a bit of a classic "puppy blues" post, but I'm really struggling with guilt over adopting our new dog and could use some advice or reassurance.

My very first dog is a female APBT named Marlo. She is 8 years old now and I adopted her when she was 1. I'm not sure if she’s my "heart dog" or if I'm just crazy obsessed with her, but I love her more than words can describe. I adopted her in college, but due to breed restrictions, I couldn't get landlords to approve her ESA. My parents thankfully took her in, and she bonded closely with my dad and lived happily alongside their two other dogs. Even though she wasn't officially in my apartment, I saw her every weekend in college, and every other day after graduating.

A year ago, during a deep depressive episode, Marlo was the one thing keeping me going. My new therapist wrote an ESA letter that my complex approved, and I started having her over a few days a week. After recovering from TPLO surgery and losing her two older canine siblings, she became my daily WFH companion. We had an amazing routine: she’d hang out with me all day, I’d take her home around 4 PM, feed her dinner, and spend weekends with her.

In June, my husband and I decided we were ready for a dog full-time in our own home. We adopted Casper, a 10-month-old APBT/Bully mix. To be honest, their acclimation couldn't have gone better. They play all day at my parents' house, share toys, and snuggle.

Yet, I’m consumed by guilt and puppy blues. Because Casper requires so much hands-on management, my attention is constantly on him whenever they’re around each other. I've even had to pause bringing Marlo over to my apartment during the workweek because trying to get work done while getting to know Casper and managing his endless playing with Marlo was just too chaotic. Even though I still cuddle and love on her every chance I get, I can't shake the feeling that I’m leaving her behind and that I’ll regret missing this time with her when she’s gone.

It feels like I'm "cheating" on Marlo, and at the same time, I'm holding myself back from fully bonding with Casper to prove my loyalty to her. It's not like this is my first time loving and sharing attention to multiple dogs. I grew up always have at minimum 2 dogs in the household! Yet, somehow this feels different.

Has anyone else experienced this? How do you get past the feeling that loving a new dog means replacing your first?

Casper surprised us with being 61% American Bully!

I'm sure you guys can all see it immediately, but we truly thought he was going to come back 100% APBT! Can you guys tell me a little bit more about the breed? Temperament, personality, anything! I knew of the breed before this but don't know a TON about them. He is going to be 10 months old next month.

Meet Casper

This is my new boy, Casper. We adopted him late June. He is around 8 months old and is the sweetest guy ever. I had the hardest first 3 weeks with him because I was battling a lot of guilt surrounding getting him and feeling like I was replacing my soul dog, Marlo, who you can see in the last two pictures.

I adopted Marlo in 2018 and she ended up becoming my parent's permanent resident. Once I graduated college, I would bring her over to my place during work days since I WFH. Marlo lost her two brothers within 6 months of each other, the last goodbye being in April for her. I've been wanting to get a dog for my own place for a while and felt like Marlo was missing a friend. I didn't expect to feel so much like I was cheating on her!!

Needless to say, I have finally gotten over that and now we are all bonding and having the best times. Casper is starting to show more of his personality and his favorite thing to do is nap while my partner and I binge some TV shows or watch movies.

Will the girls get to do their heart rate challenge?

Do we think that the girls will get to do a heart rate challenge or have they been completely skipped over? Honestly, I think the villa girls would do so well. And the casa ones were a bit lame, besides Caleb’s.

10-month old male

Adopting this boy on Thursday! His current name is Dice.

About him:
He is VERY lazy! He loves to sleep. Very calm and submissive. He was found downtown in KC with his brother. Both were malnourished, he was 17 lbs at the time (6 months old), his brother 12 lbs. His brother’s name is Bones.

My other girl is named Marlo. I’d like something that goes along with that but not picky.

I’ve considered Ace but not in love with it!

Marlo has had a rough 2026. She lost her two brothers to old age, most recently was April 17th.

She had TPLO surgery in January but has finally hit her mark for complete free roam.

And she just got a hypothyroidism diagnosis. This is good, because she’s tired of eating crappy diet food and not losing any weight from it. Starts meds tomorrow. 💞

Please wish her well! She is my soldier and best friend.
