High end power loss(not AC related)

You all may all have seen my other post about my AC install, just know all of my testing here is with the AC off.

Ive done a lot of work to my 87' tintop, it was having some bad oil leaking issues, and heat issues, so I decided to really go through it over the past few months.

Before I started working on it, I had no issues reaching 70mph flat, and was able to climb a hill near my house and maintain 55mph in 5th uphill. Now it cannot, it can barely do 55mph flat and level.

Things ive done;

New timing belt, cam and crank seal

New water pump and oil pump gasket

Distributor housing o-ring and distributor o-ring

Larger aluminum radiator and electric fan

GM 12si 100amp alternator

Rotated "improperly" installed Weber carb

Relocated PCV valve for carb clearance

ReGeared transfer case, 4.9

New clutch and flywheel

New U-joints, all

Tried various timing, 8btdc, 10, 12, and now 15

Verified mechanical advance is functioning

Added fuel pressure gauge, and experimented with an electric pump, no change.

I have a few things to try this weekend, new plugs, check vacuum advance functionality, and i have to replace the valve cover gasket, so I can check the valve lash while the cover is off. I banged up the exhaust quite i bit when pulling the transmission, so I also have an exhaust leak now, going to replace the gasket and donut as well.

Any other things I should try/check?

Thanks all!

Aftermarket AC

I finally finished my AC for my 87' tintop! It was a lot of work, but ultimately not very difficult.

The kit I used was from NostalgicAC, their in dash kit using their ID200 evaporator, a Sanden 508 compressor, and a 12"x20" condensor.

All hoses were crimped by hand using an Amazon cheapy hydraulic crimper.

Ive been driving it for 3 weeks, and so far, its working very well, getting 36f air from the vents.

Happy to answer any questions for those wanting to do the same.

Aftermarket A/C build

1987 Suzuki Samurai Tin top, 1.3L

Im currently putting A/C in my Samurai, and attempting to fit the most powerful system I can, which so far, seems to be working.

Im using the standard Sanden 508 compressor that most aftermarket system use, which is huge for my tiny Samurai.

Im worried about a couple things with the compressor. I have to mount it pretty far from the crank pulley, and will only be using a single V belt. It also is very close to the exhaust manifold.

The distance from the crank pulley to the compressor pulley is about 20". Should I be planning for a tensioner pulley?

Will the compressor be ok right above the exhaust? Ill be adding a heat shield to the bottom/rear of compressor bracket.

Thanks all.

Anyone know the proper thread pitch for these bolts?

Im making a bracket for an AC compressor, but cannot figure out what thread these bolts are.

For the lower bracket, I have m10, 1.25 pitch, which seems to fit the best, but still only goes in about 2 turns, by hand.

The top two bolts are m7, 1.0 pitch, and only run in about 1.5 turns, also only using fingers. I don't want to start chewing the threads up.

Im guessing ill need to clean the threads with tap and die set, but would like to confirm the proper thread size and pitch.

Thanks all.

As the title says, I cant figure out how to get the shaft back in. Ive tried from the bottom, which is how it came out, but the cradle is in the way. Ive tried from the top, through the shifter boot hole, can't get enough angle to get the splines on the transmission.

Im now considering cutting the transmission cross member out, and making it bolt in, or even cutting the tunnel out, and making that bolt in.

I was getting angry, so I decided to take a break before I do anything rash.

Any help is appreciated, thanks all.
