Rewarding or exhausting?

I’m curious if you spent lots of time setting up your own wedding, (DIY floral arrangements, seating, tablescapes, lighting, etc) did you feel it was all worth it?

Did you end your wedding feeling rewarded for having done so much of your own work OR did you wish someone else had just done it?

Hydrotherapy for a dog?

Does anyone know if there’s somewhere in Vermont or nearby that offers hydrotherapy for dogs?

Black tie stressing

I am stressing and way too anxious about this wedding I have to go to. Outdoors, black tie this summer. I’m worried that this may be too sexy but I’m pressed and have tried soooo many dresses. Will this work? Or in black?

EDIT: I have tried it on, it fits very well and I have no boobs at all to fall out

1 week post-op experience - unique experience!

Hey all, bit of a different but so far positive experience here.

Background: 28F, 4 years of completely disruptive and intense heartburn episodes, unable to control with medications following one rough stomach incident that was misdiagnosed as an ulcer. Very occasional right flank aches or short-lived stabby RUQ pain. So little I barely noticed!

All tests clean, including a PH probe to determine if it’s even acid reflux at all—it wasn’t. Completely normal. Given the occasional RUQ pain, they ordered a HIDA just to be safe. 93.5% ejection fraction— hyperkinetic gallbladder diagnosis.

Surgery was 1 week ago, laparoscopic. I was definitely led to believe it would be an easy recovery. I’m young, quite fit. It was anything but that.

I woke up in excruciating pain from both gas and other pain. They gave me loads of pain medicine, which lowered my blood pressure too much for their comfort. Thankfully nothing had gone wrong, but afterwards I couldn’t walk for almost 24 hours. Too much pain, nausea, and dizziness upon standing. So I was in hospital until I could get up to use the bathroom.

Made good use of Tylenol, the anti nausea meds, pain meds, etc for a few days. Was hunched over struggling to walk. Sleeping with a million pillows to be comfortable.

Had quite a lot of anxiety with some heart palpitations the past day. Didn’t last long but I anticipate it will come and go. Diarrhea the past several. Also—it took me 4 days post op to poop. Awful time too, so if you’re experiencing that, you’re not alone.

Heartburn and acid reflux hasn’t been present at all. I have been eating lots of fats, acidic beverages, etc. so I am very hopeful there!

Final diagnosis from both surgery and pathology ended up being a partially intrahepatic gallbladder (weee rare find!) and chronic cholecystitis.

Overall hopeful, some things resolved. Still hurting. Hope it goes away soon. Get it out if you have the option because you never know, they may find it’s wrapped up in your liver!! And surely that must’ve been problematic.

PSA: not every curb item is a “free stuff” item

Burlington has the best little curb recycling ecosystem going, truly. Leaving a coffee table on the sidewalk for someone to snag? Awesome. A big mirror you’re tired of? Someone else’s new treasure.

Some of you however, are leaving electronics and other clapped-out stuff to sit for DAYS.

If nobody has grabbed that old printer, moldy wooden furniture, or other used goods within a day, chances are they’re not gonna. It becomes lazy sad waste that’s left for someone else to deal with or your neighbors to stare at. Especially the electronics. It’s a huge waste for them to marinate in the rain.

Please, please, just bring this stuff to ReSource or a dump. Your neighbors will be much happier 😭

▲ 1 r/OCD

I’ve always been an incredibly anxious person, worse at some times more than others. Recently I’ve been more anxious, and expressed my thoughts about possibly having OCD with my therapist.

We discussed my thoughts, particularly the dark and superstitious spirals, along with the growing intensity of my rumination, obsessive thoughts, and repetitive behavior. I never really shared these all that much until more recently when I realized via social media that these aren’t normal ways of functioning.

She was able to diagnose me this week. I’m happy to have a reason for it all, not feeling as crazy or strange but I am also sad. I’ve always been this way, the volume is just much louder recently.

How did you come to terms with your diagnosis?
