USCIS RFE receipt notification

For those who don’t have online accounts for an I-140 application. Does USCIS notify applicants via email about reciept of RFE submission or will they automatically update the case status when they recieve it???

A friend of mine submitted his RFE which got to them on 07/01 and is yet to get a confirmation from them concerning reciept.

OPT Approval after Adjudication hold lift

It’s been almost a month since a Federal Judge vacated the hold policies placed on work permits etc for those from 39 countries. Has anyone had their OPTs approved since then? If yes. Did you have to reach out to USCIS to move your case up for review or did yours just get approved without doing anything?

OPT and what bothers me

I have been thinking about this OPT/39 countries pause of recent and I have been wondering:

I understand that an F1 student who has applied for OPT is literally allowed to stay in the US till their application is adjudicated. Then, how long exactly would the USCIS take to vet and scrutinise applicants from the 39 countries? From here, so many international students have applied for OPT since last year and are still waiting to get their application adjudicated. Many applied recently and many others would be applying soon.

I mean, since OPT is a temporary benefit given to international students, why not just vet them accordingly, adjudicate their application, allow them gain the experience from the OPT (for those approved) and then they can find their way. Imagine finishing school and you are waiting 5 to 6 months without any source of income for OPT.

Many of the students already in the US came here legally via applying to a school, got admission, went through the US embassy at their various countries and after meeting the US border requirements, were issued a visa. As such, I feel it is totally fair to at least treat these students as legal aliens, give a timeline by which these whole adjudication hold is meant to be.

The American government has every right to handle its immigration problems as it sees fit, it is a great nation no doubt, but victimising students who are already within the country, who came here with the high hopes of living out a long term academic dream is totally unfair.
