In 2017 I bought Ableton 10. I had a Windows PC. In 2020 I bought a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 with six cores, 16 GB RAM) because my Windows PC's hard drive failed. I had two licences of Ableton and I used them both.

Now I've reached a critical point: Ableton, or rather, the MacBook, isn't performing. When I first open the program it can run correctly and normally, but after a few minutes of using it and recording some vocals, when you hit "play" it starts to glitch and you get these really “crispy” "dirty" "bubble pop" sounds, if you know what I mean, it just sounds awful. Even during recording, the program crashes, and when I finish recording, half of the stuff sounds glitchy.

I should say that I've installed a lot of things on the computer since then, from dozens of plugins to some video games. But it's been a rather slow decline, rather than a rapid one. It used to happen when the project was very track-heavy (40 tracks). Now it happens with just two tracks and one plugin per track. I even thought it was my computer's hard drive memory and deleted up to 30GB, but even so, Ableton is still just as bad, running poorly. I even bought Ableton 11 because it was theoretically supposed to improve performance, and when I saw it wasn't working for me either, I installed a third-party program that promised good performance (which I haven't managed to get).

EDIT: My Macbook overheats, as Macs Fan Control tells that my CPU can get to 65ºC overall. I also have the hated touchbar, that overheats the system...

So, my question is, what do you recommend?

1. Factory reset
2. A new Macbook
3. Buying Ableton 12
4. Something else (please explain!)

Hi! What playlists do you use for setting up your FOH and for corporation events? Or any playlist you use for anything related with the job!

I want to buy a guitar so I can record it in Ableton. But I’d like to know the best way to experiment with effects. Should I buy an amp with an SM57 to record it directly (or with a effects pedalboard)? Should I buy a pedalboard just to plug it into my DAW? Or is a DI box enough, given all the effects available in Ableton?

Molta força desde Catalunya

Hola! D'aquí poc em mudo a Mallorca, i a Catalunya hi ha moltes activitats diferents per jugar a jocs de taula tant a botigues de jocs com a casals de cultura, etc.

M'agradaria saber si hi ha algun lloc on jo em pugui apuntar quan vulgui, per fer unes partides a jocs variats, ja siguin més pesats o menys. Pot ser qualsevol punt de s'illa.

També, si hi ha alguna comunitat al respecte, feu-m'ho saber ;)

Maybe this is not the place to ask this, but what can I do with 7 unreleased dubstep/edm songs that are from 2018? I lost the files and I've got only the last export, all songs are finished.

Context: Since 2018, I had two aka's, one for dubstep (2016-2018) and one for trap and more indie-like music (2019-nowadays). The lasts songs I did in 2018, I never published them, tho they were the best ones lol, because I wanted to change my artist plans. Now I feel that they're "wasted" songs, and that they deserve to go out, but I don't know if I should create a new aka and releasing an EP, or something like that...

I just updated to the last version. When I touched the screen in older versions, I could see notifications and unlock the screen with my fingerprint. Now I have to click the physical button.

Any solutions?

Me mudo de Girona a Palma, y estoy buscando maneras de poder hacerlo.

1. Mi principal idea fué contratar una empresa de mudanzas y poder hacerlo todo más fácil.

Hasta Palma probablemente tenga que mover el colchón de matrimonio, una estantería pequeña, una cajonera de habitación, dos cajoneras de despacho, un escritorio, dos muebles básicos de comedor, un par de sillas, un equipo de música (tocadiscos y altavoces), un teclado (piano), un zapatero y algo más. Con más cajas para transportar libros, vinilos, ropa...

Ya tengo que llevar mi coche en barco, así que puedo hacer un viaje con cosas dentro.

2. Hablando, mi pareja me dió una idea, ella lleva mi coche y yo llevo una furgoneta de alquiler, con toda la mudanza dentro.

Ahora el problema está en que solo he encontrado "enterprise" como única empresa que me deja coger la furgoneta en Girona y devolverla en Palma.

Último apunte, tener la furgoneta de alquiler me iría bien para poder llevar una lavadora y un par de cosas más en casa de mis padres.

Qué me recomendáis con todo esto?

I have some trouble here, while I'm listening to Whatsapp audios, they are stopped when my screen blocks. Is there any way to keey the audio running while the screen is off?
