Must watch episodes

If you had only time to recommend 5 episodes of Bar Rescue which ones would they be and why?

Mine are. (All entirely season 3 for some reason so I had to erase a few and add ones not from season 3 to be fair so I am thinking s3 is prime Bar Rescue for me).

  1. Don’t Judge A Booze by its Bottle - All In guy is both hilarious and pathetic in equal measure.

  2. Punch Drunk and Trailer Trashed. You can’t be a fan of the show and not watch the OFace episode.

  3. Scoreboard to Death- Features my favorite recon team. Maria Menounos’s reactions to the filth are hilarious.

  4. Ice,Mice, Baby……Ashley Clark. (Season 5)

  5. Sticky situations….Porn Couch (Season4)

Scummiest to nicest

What were the scummiest dirtiest bars that Jon turned into the nicest bars. I don’t care if the bar latest 7 days or 7 years. I am just looking for “yeah that’s a shit show” to “wow I might actually go there.”

TV Bar for Taffer to Rescue

I was watching old episodes of the US version of Shameless and “The Alibi” was at one point named “The Rapiest bar in Chicago” so Kevin tried to make it a safe space for women with obvious failure. I was just thinking what would have happened if he called Taffer who would see a bunch of bar flies there all day, a guy who tries to get free drinks all night, another guy who occasionally runs Russian whores upstairs, and that is assuming he misses the bar fight when Mickey came out to homophobic father fresh out of prison. In other words it would be a fun episode.

Are there any other tv bars that could use Taffer’s touch or bar you would just like to see Taffer lose his shit during recon?

Maya World proved she belonged playing with the big girls

Closed now but successful anyway

I know if you look in 2026 a lot of the bars are now closed but since the initial rescue of most of these rescues were more then a decade ago even if they are closed now which ones would you consider a success since “bar was two months away from going under” before Taffer showed up.

Dirt Bag Owners

Who would you call the biggest dirt bag owners. I don’t mean an owner who was a bit of a dick when the episode started but actually figured shit out by the end. Owners who were just dirt bags through the entire thing with no redeeming qualities.

The O’Face people are obvious.

There is also one where Taffer made the owner promise to pay his staff (something about them giving him invoices or something) but he never did. Just closed the bar still owing most of them money.

The guy who hung from the rafters Dirty Rooster guy right?

I want to say porn couch guy but I find him more pathetic than a dirt bag. I mean yeah porn couch but I think his family put waaaay too much responsibility on a guy who might of hated the bar business.

I find this show fascinating

I have never been a fan of reality tv. As a matter of fact I find most kinds of reality television utter trash (and not in a good way). That being said I find shows like Bar Rescue utterly fascinating for a couple reasons. The biggest is that I actually do believe Taffer has the best of intentions when trying to rehabilitate failing bars and restaurants. Even though the show does a lot of “made for reality tv moments” I think that part of it actually is true. He isn’t doing this for shits and giggles and you can usually see the projects he cares about and the ones he kinda knows are gonna be flaming fires regardless of what he does. But I think that is the “reality” tv part of the show. Taffer gets to help the people he wants to help but occasionally has to also help utter failures and incompetents because it makes for good tv.

Claudia’s rage

Fir obvious reasons people are going to focus on a lot of the Louis/Lestat/Gabriella stuff but I thought the Claudia scene was incredibly well done as well. Of course she is angry and said some pretty hateful things but I am curious how much she meant it. Was she just an angry jealous monster acting out at the two other monsters who in her mind got the happy ending she was denied or is she absolutely right in that even in death Louis was infantizing her to the point he was making it about him. He turned Madeline and didn’t seem to care an inch about her. Did she just chose Louis because he was easier to control and had every intention of walking away one day but Armand and his covens shenanigans killed her before she had the chance?

My question is how much of what she said was true and how much was said just to hurt Louis?

The case for Omega

This is just my opinion and the way I see two conflicting stories going. I personally don’t think The Deathriders will turn on Ospreay any time soon. The reason they turned on Bryan Danielson was a visceral way to both end his in ring career and put heat on Wheeler Yuta. That isn’t necessary with Will Ospreay. So I think it is far more likely that we will continue to get Darth Ospreay well past All In.

That brings me to the case of Kenny Omega actually beating MJF on a random Dynamite. MJF is “the guy” but he is also kinda banged up right now so giving him some time off might be a good idea. Omega beating him in either a quickie match or a big long match would turn the All In match to Ospreay vs Kenny Omega which has more natural history to it. These two dudes are friends but with Moxley whispering in Ospreay ear what is he willing to do to win at All In? No one would really care if Ospreay took MJF apart piece by piece or even cheated a little…..but the over aggressive nature of the Deathriders on Kenny Omega might hit a little differently.

I am just saying…all the posts I have read are calling for a DQ so that the match can be on a PPV. I am calling it now. Kenny Omega for the win on Breach Break.

Gabriella or Armand

I have a soft spot for Armand so I might be biased. I do agree with Daniel’s description of him as a “friendless bottom twink sociopath” but I don’t view him as truly gleefully evil the way I view Gabriella. Even human Gabriella allowed Lestat to get hurt and barely cared about him. Once Lestat turned her into a vampire she almost immediately abandoned him. But at the same time I am curious if she actually believed Nicki would make a bad vampire or she just didn’t want Lestat to have anyone else in his life. I am now wondering what will happen when Louis becomes a threat to her hold on Lestat. Plus that conversation on burning the mortal world. Lestat took it as a joke. I think Gabriella was serious. I think she still wants that. To burn the mortal world. When Lestat on the verge of a breakdown wants to quit touring Gabriella is more concerned about the voices about the vampires and how Lestat is reaching them then in what it would do to him. While I think Armand is capable of love at least with Daniel. I think Armand is capable of caring about Daniel at least. I think Gabriella only loves and cares about herself.

Rethinking season 1 Lestat

Even just two episodes in and already I am seeing why Lestat treated Louis and Claudia the way he did. Gabriella/Sophia was what love looked like to Lestat and his father and brothers were what family looked like to him. So I can see new to America Lestat just happening to come across an angry still human Louis pulling a knife on his brother and it making complete sense to him. Louis wanting to maintain a relationship with his sister was what confused him. I am by no means excusing his behavior but we learn from our parents and as of episode 2 (and it will later shift with the inclusion if his maker and the person who will be his first non familar love interest) but right now a couple things Lestat did to for and with Louis and Claudia kinda makes sense.

Daniel Molloy

I know this season is by nature going to be mostly about Lestat but my favorite character is Daniel Molloy. Yes I am a Daniel/Armand shipper in large part because I have seen far too many vampire shows where an ancient vampire falls in love with a 16 year old girl. I just love the esthetic of Daniel being an old man who legitimately held his own against two dangerous vampires. I can absolutely see what these ancient vampires see in him. He is a fascinating boy who is now a dangerous vampire in his own right.

I miss Rampage

The matches were almost always random and it was on late at night so I often didn’t watch until Saturday but I miss having that end of the week hour of matches. Plus it is where Harley Cameron first became interesting.
