Hi! Was just wondering if anyone could ID this doll for me? I mean, based on the look, I’m assuming a Barbie, but tbh I don’t have a lot of experience with Barbies. She’s come in a collection of other toys I got, and I’m a bit of a sentimentalist and don’t like tossing toys, so just wanted to know if anyone recognises her.

Hi there! I’m brand new here - and I just wanted to share my find today, since there’s a bit of a special backstory to go with it!

So, to start off - I’m not a mega Care Bear fan or anything, but I did like it when I was younger. I’m 30 now, and I remember watching the old cartoon! I only ever had one Care Bear plush as a child - which was Bedtime Bear. And like many, I loved him.

Unfortunately, in my early teens (like I’m sure what happened to many people…), some high school friends came over to my house and saw how many plushies I still had and made fun of me a bit. I got very embarrassed, and ended up getting rid of almost all of my plushies - and my Bedtime Bear was amidst the ones that I got rid of. I regretted it back then, and I deeply regret it now, and I really wish I could go back and get all of my plushies.

Now that I’m older, I regularly collect plushies again with no fuss, since, well, I’m not embarrassed anymore. If I see one in the store, why not! But there are some I kind of look out for. I quite miss my Bedtime Bear, but it hasn’t been overwhelming enough for me to actively go out seeking a new one - I’ve just kept regularly passing by the plushie section when I’m in the store, and hoping to one day see a Bedtime Bear. But he either isn’t very popular so he isn’t stocked much, or maybe he’s very popular and there’s never any around, but Bedtime Bear isn’t one I’ve really come across much in my casual checks. I did find a mini Bedtime Bear and bought it, but I’ve been wanting a ‘regular’ sized version that was just a plush, no bells and whistles, so it was like my old one. I’ve considered getting a different Care Bear, but I just haven’t warmed to any of the ones I’ve seen.

Until today! Was doing some shopping, and swung by the plushie section of Big W. I like to get a little treat comfort plushie when things haven’t been going great, so I was browsing casually. I looked up onto the top shelf, and here I saw Good Luck Bear. I’ve never seen this version of Good Luck Bear - I only know him as green! This was the only one on the shelf, and the box was a little battered - I guess it’s been tossed out in the warehouse for a bit. It was marked down from the original price. And when I read that he was a limited edition one with a real crystal nose, I just thought that was so cute - since I also really love gemstones and love when they get included in plushies.

Lo and behold… The more I stared, the more this is the first time I’ve wanted to buy a Care Bear that wasn’t Bedtime Bear. Things have been pretty rough for me lately, and coming across this felt like it was just a little good luck and kindness from the universe. Might be a little silly, but sometimes we all need a little pick me up. So, I’ve brought him home with me. He’s number 654 of 4000 - which I reckon I should start keeping as a little lucky number! I don’t know how super special this is… But it made me feel really lucky and special, and I just wanted to share it somewhere with people who would also appreciate it!
