Hi,

Looking for a fix for the back seat rattle.

From what i can tell the rear seats hook onto a bar fixed to the inner cab. The hook has a plastic coating that has since deteriorated resulting in a gap that allows movement and the hook and bar to rattle when driving.

Appreciate if anyone has advice on how to best fix this rattle.

A Common name, a common identity. A common thread that unites the multicultural communities that we've talk about in the same breathe when we talk about Fiji. All the coups, all the damage done, and all the efforts to reconcile years after the fact. Where and when do we cement the pain of the past and move forward together. A common name, a common identity, how best do we acknowledge the contributions of other ethnic groups who help developed this country that we are also so proud of? How best do we recognise the those of Rotuman, Samoan, Tongan, Solomon, European, Indian, Nepalese, Chinese, Korean, Tuvaluan, Banaban ancestry, who for generations have called Fiji Home, whom we've been been raised with, studied along side and worked in partnership with. More than a common name, a common identity for those of us lucky to call Fiji home, a common identity that unites us despite ethnicity, social status and hierarchy and beyond rugby.

A common identity and a shared name that reflects the warmth of Fiji.

Happy Belated Rotuma Day!.

Falling on the 13th of May this year coinciding with the celebration of the Rotuman Language week in New Zealand, the first of the Pacific Languages.

I just wanted to take stock and reflect a bit.

The Rotuman Language (Fäeag Rotųam) was included in the UNESCO Altas of the World's Languages in Danger in 2019.

Rotuman Language week was first celebrated in 2020 when added to the New Zealand Language week series.

The Rotuman language week has been celebrated for 7 years, the Language is still listed as by UNESCO as definitely in danger.

While stats on speakers is difficult to find. I still wanted to understand if there is any measure of success behind the Rotuman Language week? Or Rotuma Day? Is enough being done to:

1. Promote the Language and culture; and

2. Preserve the Language and culture

Have steps been taken to record the language, stories and intangible treasures locked deep i the recesses of the minds of the elders?

Are these records accessible/public? Are we promoting these resources for the diaspora who are looking to connect with their culture?

Is enough work being done? Or are we just satisfied with the one of Rotuma Day celebration? Or the week long language week? Where we'll see the Rotuman content be plugged constantly for one week. Then nothing for the other 51 weeks.

What can we do better?

So that come the next 7 years we can proudly say the number of speakers have increased!.

That we now have comprehensive language resources available that people can readily access and use to learn to speak Rotuman.

That we have captured the intangible treasures and recorded them and now have the ability to preserve and pass on this knowledge on without the risk of losing it completely.

What would be something you would send in a care package to family or friends who now live abroad to remind them of home?

I've had some friend traveling recently and besides the usual yaqona, Pure Fiji and snacks, what are somethings you'd send?.

Or for those who now live abroad, what do you miss? Or what would you like to see in a care package?
