Is it worth coming to Dubai on a visit visa for Digital Marketing jobs in 2026?

Hi everyone,

I’m from India with 4+ years of experience in marketing communications, social media strategy, content marketing, and digital campaigns. I’ve also recently started upskilling more into performance marketing (Meta Ads, Google Ads, etc.) and am actively exploring opportunities in Dubai/UAE.

Lately I’ve been seriously considering taking a visit visa and coming to Dubai for direct job hunting and networking, especially because I keep hearing mixed opinions online.

Some people say:

- being physically present in UAE increases chances significantly

- recruiters prefer local candidates

- interviews move faster when you're already there

But at the same time, I also hear:

- the market is heavily saturated right now

- many jobs offer lower salaries than expected

- some companies keep posting openings without actively hiring

- visit visa job hunting can become financially draining if things don’t work out quickly

So I wanted genuine advice from people already working in Dubai/UAE, especially in:

- Digital Marketing

- Social Media

- Performance Marketing

- Media/Advertising agencies

A few questions:

  1. Is the UAE market currently worth exploring for someone with my background?

  2. Does being physically present in Dubai actually improve chances?

  3. What salary range is realistically offered nowadays for digital marketing/social media roles?

  4. Are agencies better to target than in-house roles initially?

  5. How difficult is it to switch from content/social media into performance marketing in UAE?

Would really appreciate honest insights — both positive and negative. Just trying to understand the ground reality before making a decision.

Thanks in advance 🙂

4+ years in content/social media marketing — trying to transition into performance/media. Need honest career advice.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently at a bit of a career crossroads and wanted honest advice from people already working in digital marketing/media agencies/performance marketing.

I have around 4+ years of experience in:

- Content Strategy

- Social Media Management

- Digital Campaign Coordination

- Marketing Communications

Most of my work has been around content, social media, campaigns, audience engagement, and real-time communication for large-scale projects/events.

Over the last year, I started realising that long-term growth in digital marketing increasingly leans towards:

- performance marketing

- media planning

- analytics

- paid media

- measurable ROI

So recently I’ve been actively upskilling through programs like Kraftshala and learning:

- Meta Ads

- Google Ads

- campaign metrics

- media planning basics

- funnels

- performance strategy

Now the confusing part:

Even with experience, I’m finding it difficult to break into media/performance roles because:

- many companies want direct hands-on experience

- assignments/interview rounds are becoming extremely long

- some roles feel more like “full project extraction” than hiring processes

- and the market itself feels very saturated right now

I’m honestly trying to understand:

  1. Is transitioning from content/social media into performance marketing realistically possible in today’s market?

  2. Would agencies still consider someone like me for trainee/junior media/performance roles despite prior experience in another domain?

  3. What skills actually matter most today for getting into media/performance roles?

  4. Is the market genuinely this difficult right now, or am I approaching things the wrong way?

  5. If you were in my position, what would you focus on for the next 6–12 months?

Not looking for motivational answers, genuinely looking for practical industry advice from people already working in the field.

Would really appreciate honest perspectives 🙂

Is it worth moving to Bangalore for Digital Marketing opportunities in 2026?

Hi everyone,

I’m from Kerala with 4+ years of experience in marketing communications, social media strategy, content marketing, and digital campaigns. Recently, I’ve also been upskilling in performance marketing (Meta Ads, Google Ads, media planning basics, etc.) and actively exploring opportunities in Bangalore.

Lately I’ve been seriously considering relocating to Bangalore for job hunting and networking, especially because most good marketing/media/performance roles seem concentrated there.

But honestly, I’m getting mixed signals about the market.

On one side:

- Bangalore seems to have better agency exposure

- more openings in media/performance marketing

- stronger startup and digital ecosystem

- better long-term growth opportunities

But at the same time:

- I hear the competition is extremely high

- many companies conduct multiple assignment rounds without closure

- salaries don’t always match Bangalore living costs

- some openings seem permanently “active” on LinkedIn

- and the market itself feels unpredictable right now

So I wanted honest advice from people already working in:

- Digital Marketing

- Media Planning

- Performance Marketing

- Advertising Agencies

- Social Media/Content Strategy

A few questions:

  1. Is Bangalore still worth relocating to for marketing/media careers in 2026?

  2. Does being physically present in Bangalore improve hiring chances significantly?

  3. What salary range is realistically offered nowadays for someone with ~4 years experience in content/social/digital marketing?

  4. Is agency experience in Bangalore genuinely valuable long-term?

  5. How difficult is it to transition from content/social media into media planning or performance marketing there?

Would really appreciate practical insights from people currently in the industry — both positives and challenges.

Thanks in advance 🙂
