Here’s a thought that crossed my mind

If the hunter was originally there in the past (no Lou, they were just born around that time) to help the heroes with their first problems (Josee beating the remnant, The chorus seizing the castle, taking back the hot springs for Holly) but then had to leave a few weeks later for a bit for one reason or another, thus leaving the heroes alone to face the worst part of their lives and only showing up again when it’s too late (Josee after she woke up from her frenzy at the clock tower, Lyle finding all the chorus members and Craig dead, Holly after she killed her dad and euthanize all her patients) do you think they might have develop an unhealthy attachment to the hunter?

——————————————————

Cause think about

(Josee)- She lost her mother, sister and all of her people and this random hunter who somehow managed to help her through her grief and regret over her sister’s death is the last person she care about who’s still alive.

(Lyle)- His found family and the man who pretty much adopted him, are dead but the last person from that group who’s still alive is the only person that he agreed to team up with and also helped tear down his walls that made him distant to his family.

(Holly- I have to get a bit fan ficky since we barely spend time with her)- She lost her mother from a very young age and grew up thinking her father was nothing but scum, then one day she meets a hunter who has almost the same kind of disease that her bloodline has but slightly different, bit by bit she forms a connection with them and she finally feels comfortable opening up to them about her problems and a slight weight lifts off her chest after letting out all her frustrations.

One day they asked to be let out because they have something they need to do and she lets them since she’s confident they won’t just run away.

Then a few days later her father goes into a frenzy and manages to infect some of the patients and staff so she has to put them down but after the incident the bureau take over the sanatorium and slowly make the rest of the patients and staff go in into a frenzy and they put the blame on her.

While she’s at the sanatorium one last time before her trial, she sees the last patient and friend she cares about coming through the front gates, still infected and none the wiser to what happened, she know’s that if she lets them go into the sanatorium, the last person she cares about is going to die.

Personally I think Josee & Lyle would become overprotective of the hunter, tho I can see an argument for Lyle being that he might tell them to live on and go his own way alone like we see in game but I’m pretty sure that takes place a few weeks later after the chorus massacre.

Holly might honestly be the one that turns out the worst cause I can see her being both possessive/overprotective cause she’s the only one that can keep the hunter’s disease from getting worse and maybe slightly paranoid over random hunter’s trying to help them, thinking they were sent by the bureau to poison them just like at the sanatorium.

Or do you think the hunter can pull the impossible off and bring the heroes out of the pit of despair without time travel?

Hot take: valentin is a bigger let down of a character than iris

With iris you knew she was going to be a side character, hell she was barely in the marketing for the game so you’re expectations for her were low.

Meanwhile Valentin was in the marketing a lot more and he even got his own character trailer but all he did was show up early game, stop Josee and gobbo from arguing, give us a side quest, die, try to commit genocide on his own people and got his ass beat a second time (he did not deserve to be the final boss for two out of the three endings). Hell most of his lines from his trailer are from Noah’s incursion that’s how little he shows up
