How bad is my study strategy?

I use the class' transcripts and slides to generate AI notes. Usually indicating to help me learn and find patterns in the material. And of course I compare the notes to the actual slides to make sure nothing important is forgotten.

I generate flashcards and quizzes with a variety of questions.

But I've been lagging behind my peers who seem to be doing less than me by either just reading or something similar to me.

I don't know if it's the AI part because I've placed plenty of effort doing handwritten or typed notes before and the result often made me feel less confident but comparable grades.

I don't know, maybe I'm not actually cut out for school.

I don't think I'll ever find love or have a family

My parents are divorced. My parents’ friends are divorced. I have relatives who have never been married. Growing up, I’ve never really had the ability to be around kids my age because I was always being moved around.

My dad is territorial now, especially when it comes to me dating. My mom has brought boyfriends into and out of her house so many times that my grandma, sister, and I started making bets on how long each relationship would last (usually around three months). But, of course, I have to meet each boyfriend’s entire family, become friends with them and their family, and whatever other bullshit and then they get completely cut off.

For myself: I’ve been alone my entire life. I’ve tried and tried to find romance, but no one ever bites. I feel it in me, the desire burning in me to make a girl happy, to fight for her but everywhere I go, I’m either rejected or just ignored.

I’ve been rejected throughout high school. Then I had to deal with COVID and health issues during undergrad, so I met no one.

Now I go to dental school, and I’m still so alone. I have some female friends who seem to enjoy my presence, but a number of them, I think, are only my “friends” because they’re forced to work with me in labs. I know this because most of the girls in my class who I don’t work with can’t even be bothered to engage in a conversation with me or keep one going. In addition, I swear there are more girls in my school who are engaged or married than those who are single.

(No mods, this isn’t a request for dting advice.)

There’s this one girl who I think I may like more than I’m willing to admit, and she just confused the hell out of me. We were out as a class, and when she saw me, she just ran up to me and gave me a big ol’ hug. No big deal; I just thought she was a little drunk and being endearing.

There were other times with her when I’d be talking with my friends and she’d randomly say she loved me, catching me off guard. Then she followed up with, “Does that make you feel nervous?” And then she proceeded to do it again a few weeks later. This time, she shouted it across the parking lot, again in front of my friends. It's one thing to just say that but with the extra attributes attached it kinda confused me, in addition-

My problem with this girl is that, at the same time, she could feel cold. She wouldn’t engage in conversation and would straight-up ignore me. I asked her out because why not? I got rejected because she spawned in a boyfriend from a dating app 2 weeks prior. Instead of her engaging in conversation with me or trying to connect, she found it easier to date a random guy online.

I hate myself for this because, even though she confused me, there may have been a window. There may have been a chance, and that’s what’s currently eating at my soul. That maybe an end to my loneliness was right there, and I blew it.

Something like this wasn’t the first time. My first high school sweetheart picked a guy she met online over me, not once but twice. I literally have to contend with guys who have a far lower hurdle to jump, who don’t have to perform socially.

There’s just no place outside of school for me to meet people. I’ve tried dating apps, but they absolutely suck. I’ve even used services to try to optimize my photos and prompts, and it still means nothing.

I’m going to be alone for the rest of my life. I know I lack social abilities. I overthink things. I’m anxious. It doesn’t matter how much I work on my looks, lose fat, and gain muscle. I’m not some NEET with a hunched back, overgrown hair, who thinks all women are the devil. I’m well put together, with a good future ahead of me, but I feel invisible.

I’m never going to have a family. I just know it. I’m going to be 65 years old one day. My parents will be dead, along with my aunts and uncles. I’m going to guess a good chunk of my distant relatives will be dead, too. My sister may or may not be around. And I’ll have no one.

If I ever get my hands on a genie’s lamp, the first thing I’d ever wish for is to know what the fuck is wrong with me. Because currently I just find it harder and harder to move forward in life.

What are the facet designs for the diamonds people have placed onto their teeth? And how do they work design wise?

I don't mean glass or plastic, I mean actual precious stone that's stuck on top of the tooth. The kind where you have to go to a dental office/spa.

I'm a dental student myself funny enough so this has me bringing up questions. We can't drill too deep, even half a millimeter more than necessary can be dangerous; so how are the stones able to reflect light if the pavilion is either shallow or flat?

I need to come clean- I suck at this hobby

Facets almost never line up, I forget to check my exact index, I misread designs, I haven't made a single non-fucked stone, transferring is hell, and stones fall off all the time.

Edit: just tried to dop a tiny stone wax. Fuckin burnt myself and the stone flew off somewhere else

Other ideas could be M- The Moon

Design recommendations for this citrine

Received this piece with a massive 90° cut in the middle in a very awkward way.

Should I just hail Mary a design or does anyone have a suggestion to deal with this cut? The issues is I don't have a tool to finish this cut this I'm gonna end up wasting lots of materials.

Or should I not cut it at all and wait till my broke ass can get a stone cutter?

How to get into sports?

I'm a mid 20s guy who never really had a good introduction to watching sports, often preferred to play them.

I'm getting more involved with a new friend group at school and sports are brought up every other conversation, and I'd like to understand and participate with them.

How to improve this study strategy?

So I'm a dental student and the time I have to study materials till I'm tested on them is 1 week. Friday to Friday.

At most I'll receive about 7 recorded lectures to study. Lighter weeks can be 3-4. Sometimes the professor has learning objectives, sometimes they don't, and if they do the LOs aren't guaranteed to actually reflect the exam material.

In order to optimize as much I have trying to actually digest, memorize, and study the material I've opted for AI note generation with my professors transcript and lectures. I don't do handwritten anymore because although it's best for memory it strains my already strained wrists. I've really tried typing my notes but it also takes forever, about 3-4x the length of the actual lecture, and it gets to a point where I'm just typing and not thinking.

AI notes are effective for me in terms of time, a very finite resource I currently have.

But rereading and understanding notes only gets you so far. What's another strategy method I could use to better engage myself? I've tried Anki but it's the same issue with typing notes, it takes forever, but by the time I'm done I'm lucky to even consider going over my cards twice over.

Ok, other than Anki, what's the most effective way to study that you've found to help you?

Anki just doesn't work for me, its a pain to make and I don't have time to even go over it twice.

Something I really want to experiment with is using AI to generate notes from slides and transcripts. They seem good for the most part, they do a better job at actually teaching then my professor's slides, and I just read them over and over. However I need to try a mechanism that really tests my knowledge; I've used NotebookLM but it just regenerates the same topics and questions every single time.

Just a tool or mechanism that can help tests out my knowledge of the topic backwards and forwards.

How do I properly cut to these reference points?

Currently cutting *Pentrit* by Ottorino.

I'm confused on how to properly line up the five columns that make up the girdle evenly. I've tried measuring the side, dividing by 5 and marking the edges the best I could but it's not coming out so well.

Have you used dressing stones on Diamond laps to clean them out?

I've been told dressing stones are pretty effective, more effective than stuff brushes. Should I try them?

I'm a 1st year dental student

My dad rubs shoulders a lot with upper class people, doctors, lawyers, business owners. And I take it he's getting very unrealistic advice from them.

Every data point and newer dentist anecdote I see is that new dentists working as associates make 120-180k. Which is great cash.

The only feasible way I can a 300k salary right of school is by immediately buying and owning a practice, but this isn't what he's talking about. He thinks that a brand new associate dentist can easily find a job of ~300k.

How do I make his expectations far more reasonable? He absolutely refuses to listen to me over some random 1%-ers.

For how I see it,

Mask bankai ≈ fullbring bankai, maybe FBB etching out for being more well rounded with his powers.

But people act like it dwarfs Mask. I don't see the reasoning behind this. Like, for the sake of argument, people say Ichigo with mask is average captain but with FBB he's top tier for some reason.

The best I've gotten out was "Ginjo thought Ichigo's sword swing was a GT". but Ginjo only saw GT once while Ichigo was in his normal fullbring.

Other than that people reference his performance against Quilge but I'm not really convinced by that. I just think Bankai is a strong enough amp to defeat most sternritter- Ichigo himself suspects that they're scared of it.

In my view Mask Ichigo vs sealed Ulq was a contested fight, pretty equal but in Ulq's favor. If this was FBB Ichigo, he may win with mid-high diff under the original situation. I don't see the buff being massive enough to say Ulq gets low diffed.
