A Pour Celebrating A Life Well Lived
I got the news today that I was expecting but wasn't exactly ready for: my childhood cat passed away at 20 years old.
He was a good boy, the best really. I'm choosing to celebrate his life and have a pour in his honor.
We truly don't deserve them, here's to Smokey.

Pit Boss PB700T1: Wiring Help
Good morning!
I had my hopper taken apart in order to clear my auger and the end of this ground safety wire came undone. Here's what I've been able to find so far:
There are two ground wires: one for the cord and another that I believe goes to the switchboard.
The two ground wires are both mounted to the ground point.
My question is, where on earth does this end of the ground wire connect to? Thank you in advance for your time and please let me know if you need any other information...

A 10 Year Old Balmorhea? Yes please...
Garrison Brothers Single Barrel Balmorhea Cask Strength: Barreled in 2016, re-barreled into new American Oak barrels in 2021, and finally dumped in 2026. This is the darkest whiskey that I have in my collection by far and it's guaranteed to be a bruiser.
Any fans of Garrison Brothers will more than appreciate this bottle...

My Totally Unbiased Ranking Of The QOTSA Discography
I have to preface that this is my ranking as of today and my opinion on this changes like the weather. In my opinion, their "weakest" album would still be the strongest on a lot of other band's discographies...
8. Villains: I have to start by saying that this is not even a bad record by any means, it's just that someone has to be last. Villains actually has some tracks that are still heavily in my rotation to this day (Domesticated, Un-Reborn, Hideaway, Villains of Circumstance...), it is just the hardest one for me to get behind because the production just....eh and by that I mean that it just doesn't match the style of the band. That being said, finally getting to hear Hideaway on the Catacombs tour was absolutely incredible.
- My Favorite Tracks: Hideaway, Un-Reborn Again, Domesticated Animals
7. Lullabies to Paralyze: The entire back half of this album (from I Never Came to Long Slow Goodbye) is arguably their strongest run of songs in their discography. I just get the sense that Josh was still trying to figure out the direction of the band at this point in their career that it's hard to nail down their identity at this point. Still, so many great standouts on this album...
- My Favorite Tracks: I Never Came, Someone's In The Wolf, The Blood Is Love, "Killer Scene"
6. In Times New Roman: The finale of the "trilogy", this is a darker album where Josh picks up the pieces of what once was and guides the band forward. I have to be in a particular mood to listen to this album, but there are certainly some heaters in here. The band is in peak form this album and the production is much more raw and in their style versus Villains (hence the higher ranking...)
- My Favorite Tracks: Negative Space, Time & Place, Sicily, Straight Jacket Fitting
5. Queens Of The Stone Age: This is such a damn good album; raw, punchy, a bit weird...I love it. Any time they play a song from this album live (Regular John as the opener, anyone?), it's always a highlight of the night.
- My Favorite Tracks: Regular John, Mexicola, You Can't Quit Me Baby, Teenage Hand Model
4. ...Like Clockwork: This is the part of the rankings where this gets really hard and where I'll probably lose some people, I apologize in advance. ...Like Clockwork has some of Josh's most profound songwriting and marks a changing of the guard from the older era of Queens to the band that we see today. I was old enough to start seeing their shows on my own when this album hit, and I'm glad that I was able to...
- My Favorite Tracks: Keep Your Eyes Peeled, If I Had A Tail, I Appear Missing, ...Like Clockwork
3. Songs For The Deaf: A quintessential album for anyone, this is the perfect answer to the question "I want to listen to QOTSA, but I'm not sure where to start. Any recommendations?" You get Queens at their heaviest, but you can see the melodic cracks starting to form. This is a borderline no-skip album.
- My Favorite Tracks: First It Giveth, Song For The Dead, Song For The Deaf, God Is In The Radio, The Sky Is Fallin'
2. Rated R: I love when QOTSA gets a little weird, and we get plenty of it on this album. Couple that with some of their heaviest material to date (Tension Head) and some of their most profound songwriting (In The Fade), you get an album that has something for everyone.
- My Favorite Tracks: Leg Of Lamb, Auto Pilot, Better Living, In The Fade, Tension Head, Headache.
1. Era Vulgaris: If you can't tell by my flair, I really love this album. As an impressionable 11-year old kid, this was my first true exposure to QOTSA outside of Guitar Hero. This album fires on all cylinders and has what is and will always be my favorite song on it (Misfit Love, obviously...) It's weird, crunchy, hypnotic, sexy... It's everything that Queens Of The Stone Age is.
- My Favorite Tracks: Misfit Love, Turnin' On The Screw, 3's & 7's, Suture Up Your Future, Run, Pig, Run

Unbendt Straight Rye Whiskey (Hand Filled, Straight From The Barrel): A cool experience that this distillery offers is that you get to taste through their 4 different whiskeys (rye, wheat, malt and bourbon), hand fill your own bottles and write your own labels. All barrels on tap are above 8 years and above hazmat at this point, all of them are delicious.
Unbendt Tempranillo Finished Straight Bourbon: They take a four year bourbon and age it for an additional 4 years in Blue Ostrich Tempranillo Wine casks. I've already broken it open and it's fantastic. Like, among my favorite finished whiskeys...
