Fluvoxamine and GERD

Anyone here has GERD? I took fluvoxamine around a year and a half back in 2021 for my OCD, and I just got back on it after a family loss. The thing is, I didn't have GERD in 2021, but now that I do I'm getting pain, heartburn and a weird taste in my mouth as side effects of fluvoxamine 😭 my GERD is heavily influenced by my anxiety, and I hoped it would stay better under control with the fluvoxamine, but... maybe not?

If you have GERD, what has been your experience taking fluvoxamine?

Relationship between health anxiety and grief

(Mentions of death)

Almost two months ago, my father passed away. It was very traumatic, and unfortunately for me, the circumstances have greatly exacerbated my health anxiety and OCD. I've struggled with health anxiety since I was a kid, but I had managed to keep it under control... until now. I know I shouldn't and it's only keeping me in that health anxiety spiral, but I find myself unable to keep googling my symptoms :/ EDIT: unable to STOP googling my symptoms lmao.

I did get mildly sick a couple of times, and I find that it's not helping the health anxiety paranoia that as soon as the doctors find out I'm grieving, it's like they immediately dismiss everything I'm feeling, and I find myself having the "but what if they missed something!" thoughts more. I am aware that grief and anxiety make us feel a lot of physical symptoms, but being aware is only half the battle when my brain keeps saying "ok but what if..."

I guess I just want to know if anyone has tips to share. I went back on my SSRI, I'm looking for a therapist, but it's like health anxiety gets overlooked.

Oh boy. I made a terrible mistake today (lol 😭😭). I just went through a terrible loss, been extremely stressed and sad etc, but my GERD had calmed down... so today to cheer myself up, I decided to try a new flavor of chips (maple syrup and bacon flavored). I was expecting something sweet, but when I put one single chip in my tongue immediately felt the most repulsive flavor!! It's very difficult to describe it, but it tasted like gas? Methane? It immediately made me puke :( EDIT: I didn't even swallow the chip, it just sat on my tongue for like two minutes max.

The thing is, the flavor feels stuck in my mouth and throat now, and even half a day later it suddenly resurfaces and gives me awful nausea. Has anyone else dealt with persistent methane-like taste after eating something? I already tried to mask the taste with other foods, gum, and drinking water, but it keeps coming back and my stomach feels horribly upset.
