Fire TV Remote refuses to control TV despite trying everything

Hi there,

I got a Fire TV Stick 4k Plus a couple of weeks ago to replace our old laggy one. And whilst its quick, looks great and works better, I can not get the remote to sync to the tv so that I can adjust volume, change input or turn off/on the tv.

I've got a 2024 Panasonic TB-50W60AEY which has CEC enabled. I'm able to control the Fire TV stick with my Panasonic TV remote (this is how we controlled the last tv stick as we lost the original remote), but this means I haven't got the convinience of quickly loading netflix, disney+ etc or using voice control.

I've filtered through all the IR profile options, and even looked for others, gone through the "change TV" option in settings, changed the batteries in the Fire TV remote, connected the stick with the app (which allows me to adjust volume but I press +volume once and it keeps going without stopping), reset to factory settings, unplugged and plugged in again. Nothing is working.

The Fire TV remote does everything else - navigates well, voice control works, shortcuts work etc but does not want to control the TV.

With a newer TV and a newer Fire TV stick, I refuse to believe that my TV just doesn't enable these settings.

Any advice appreciated!

New UK skater wheel durometer recommendations

Hi guys,

I'm new to skating and got myself a complete board to start with. It feels fine for me right now, except I'm struggling with vibration and cruising at my local park. I'm wondering if I can get some recommendations for wheel durometer preference?

Currently rocking Enuff 54mm 90A, but my local park is textured tarmac and I'm wondering if switching to some Ricta Clouds would benefit me. I'd also pair some Bones Reds bearings if I got some new wheels as well. I'm unsure if Ricta 86s or 78s would be better suited for my local park - it has metal ramps too but I'm not confident using them yet.

I'm also thinking about checking out another park a short train journey away, but that's brand new smooth concrete, so would like something that could suit both, if possible.

Any other recommendations are welcome! And I'm happy to share anymore information if needed.

Many thanks!
