Is HIStory fascist?

I made this post to the main MJ sub a couple of months back but it got deleted (I wonder why...)

I should preface by saying I am an MJ fan and supporter. He's my favorite artist, and I personally believe he was truly a good man although I could be swayed otherwise.

It has always been extremely apparent to me that the album HIStory and it's surrounding era has a **ton** of Nazi/fascist imagery and associations.

The album cover, the album title, the title track, They Don't Care About Us "Jew Me, Sue me, Kick me, Kike me" which MJ said was a solidarity statement but it's funny that he says the line kick me, kike me on last time at the very end of the song completely unprompted. It doesn't even rhyme.

The infamous HIStory teaser is a pure Nazi propaganda piece but it's played so seriously. It was very strange at the time because MJ was always very humble and kind and childlike. It was also the antithesis of everything cool in music at the time, people wanted rebellious music not fascist music. Just weird, what do we think was the psychology behind this one?

Did you know Michael wore the white glove during Triumph Tour?

Cause I sure as hell didn't. Been a fan for an embarrassingly long time too. I always assumed it was introduced at Motown 25 with the moonwalk. Crazy Mandela Effect.

The Very Best Of Oasis - Proposed 1994-1997 Greatest hits album

Hi all. Admittedly this isn't a very interesting or novel of an idea, but I'm big on a really flawless greatest hits album; Rolling Stones Hot Rocks 1964-1971, Madonna The Immaculate Collection, Eagles Greatest Hits, The Beatles Red & Blue....

These are Capital A MASTERCLASS compilations that make for amazing listens in their own right, and I think Oasis is missing a definitive greatest hits package that stands the test of time as a must listen for generations of fans to come, so BEHOLD

The Very Best Of Oasis - also known as the "white" album for cover art... Which conspicuously looks like a mountain of cocaine (Album cover not made by me, fan made alternate Be Here Now album cover)

(...Also limiting myself to 14 songs because The Masterplan compilation is the same length and this should realistically fit on a CD/Double Vinyl format)

Tracklist

1. Rock 'N Roll Star

2. Supersonic

3. Live Forever

4. Cigarettes and Alcohol

5. Some Might Say

6. Roll With It

7. Wonderwall

8. Don't Look Back In Anger

9. Champagne Supernova

10. Stand By Me

11. Don't Go Away

12. All Around The World

13. Whatever

14. Slide Away

All tracks full length versions (even All Around The World!)

Creates an issue with Champagne Supernova but I couldn't find a high quality one without the fade in from the interlude.

I think it's a pretty damn good greatest hits compilation of the bands most iconic era. It doesn't include B-Sides so The Masterplan makes for a great companion piece (Think Prince The Hits/ The B-Sides) and leaves out songs like D'You Know What I Mean as to not give too much away. I think 5 songs from Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory? And only 3 from Be Here Now is definitely a choice Noel would make in a hypothetical 1994-1997 hits compilation so I think the tracklisting is realistic. Whatever is an Oasis single that doesn't belong on ANY album other than a greatest hits, particularly of this era so it's a no brainer for penultimate song and Slide Away is the best closing song to never close an album, so another no brainer for closer.

Oh and here's the actual link for the 3 people who haven't already heard these songs: The Very Best Of Oasis 1994-1997 - The "White" Album
