Why didn’t Castle Rock (the show) work? I enjoyed it, I’m a huge King fan, I am the target demographic, but for some reason it just didn’t land and I can’t figure out why. My only guess is too much mystery in that mystery box. But I feel like ONE more season would have tied it up nicely.

I have had these whales tattooed on me for 6 years now and I JUST noticed the artist did two different whales! I always loved them, but this just made me fall even MORE in love with them. The difference is subtle, yes, but still… very neat haha

Honestly, and I’m a bit embarrassed to admit this, but I just assumed he used the same stencil twice. Tonight I noticed the one had the little freckle on his fin, and I was like “heeyyyyy wait a minute!” Brandon Huckabee at Copperhead Tattoo in Denver CO: a real Mensch. Thanks for putting in a little extra effort, my guy.

I personally think it is the perfect follow up to American Graffiti. It’s messy, it’s uncomfortable, it feels like the 60s and is a sobering reminder of when America lost its perceived innocence. Movie: More American Graffiti- directed by Bill Norton.

I am going to be in the minority here, but I honestly think this is a better movie than American Graffiti. American Graffiti is a wonderful time capsule of an American that kinda… wasn’t real. It’s a great coming of age movie, and Richard Dreyfuss is perfect in it… But MAG has a lot more to say, and the experimental format and story telling perfectly embodies the unraveling of America’s perceived innocence. My whole life I was told it was a dumb and pointless sequel, but I think it’s grossly underrated. It is absolutely not the same thing as American Graffiti. Do not watch if you are expecting American Graffiti.

It’s June 2nd and already the tourists are trashing Pleasant Point Park in Buxton.

EDIT: *LOCALS and Tourists trashing the place. I didn’t realize this would be such a point of contention. I’m recruiting ideas on how to stop the disrespectful people who insist on leaving pounds of garbage at one of the prettiest places in Maine. I just spent an hour cleaning up cigarette butts and beer, cans and plastic coffee cups and I just cannot wrap my head around how people can be so selfish. If this is a preview for what the rest of summer is going to look like… yikes.

Just finished Christine, and I gotta say… what was John Carpenter thinking?? (Spoilers)

I cannot believe Carpenter omitted the Lebay element from the film. It’s like he didn’t want to actually make a scary movie! I would love to hear his reasoning. It honestly makes me wish someone would remake it into a 3 part series, and actually have the ghost elements in it. LeBay’s ghost and Arnie turning into him slowly was chilling stuff, and without it the movie Christine is so shallow!! It’s fine enough, but talk about a missed opportunity. Too bad too because the movie LOOKS amazing. Visually it’s a 10/10… but I just can’t believe he didn’t include… ya know… the plot.

My friend Matthew is flying all the way from California to perform Karaoke, and he has been asking me for months to bring friends out to see him perform. I had a good sized crew together but one by one they have all dropped out and I’m really worried no one is going to show and Matthew is going to be let down. He’s autistic, and loves to perform for people. If anyone is in the area this Thursday, and would be down to stop in and cheer him on it would mean the absolute world to me. He usually does one or two songs, and is calling this his east coast tour and bringing shirts and cds to sell. I imagine he will be performing around 8pm but I will post again when I’m more sure of the time. I will gladly buy you a drink if you come support Matthew (especially if you buy one of his merch items.) I really would like to come through for him.

EDIT: first off, thank you all so much for the support. I just talked with him, and he’s super excited!! He also confirmed his set is going to be at (or close to) 8pm and will be doing 3 songs for you all.
