Samsung says my brittle plastic jog button is a "premium part", so apparently it isn't covered under warranty

My Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 is only a few months old and the little plastic OSD jog button has already snapped during normal use.

Samsung’s response was that it isn’t covered because the jog button is a “premium part” and I’d have to pay for the repair.

Premium part.

It’s a tiny piece of brittle plastic.

Thankfully Amazon have been far more helpful and are taking the monitor back.

Apparently the real premium feature of the G8 is the plastic button.

Has anyone else had this issue, and does anyone have any advice on dealing with Samsung over it?

I remember when Samsung were good.

I built an all-in-one Windows app for analysing storage before cleaning it up

Hi,

I’ve been working on a Windows app called Zenovix Storage Manager for many months now, and I finally feel confident enough to share it. I did share it earlier, but at the time I didn’t think it was quite ready for proper feedback.
The idea is to bring a few storage tools into one place: storage analysis, exact duplicate detection, review-first cleanup, and safer file archiving before anything gets removed.

I built it because I wanted an all-in-one tool that let me review and analyse information before making any changes. I also wanted to make it easy to see what my storage looked like without having to worry too much about folder locations, and instead focus more on file types, duplicates, near duplicates, similar files, and old files.
It started as a small Python project to clean up my own computer, and I just didn’t stop. I’ve enjoyed the process, but I’m now wondering if it could compete with some of the existing tools out there.

I’ve made it freemium rather than fully paid. Most of the app is free to use, including the analysis side, duplicate detection, review tools and basic deletion. The main Pro feature is archiving, because that is the safer cleanup workflow I’ve spent a lot of time on, and I’m hoping it can help fund the project so I can keep improving it.
I thought the Microsoft Store would be a good place to release it, because I know I’d be cautious about downloading software from someone I’d never heard of before.

A couple of friends have helped me get set up and get to this point, including help with the UI and website, which I’m really grateful for.

This whole process is new to me, including posting about it properly, so apologies if I’ve missed anything or not followed a rule. I’m happy to edit or remove anything if needed.

I’d really appreciate feedback on the positioning, website, feature set, pricing model, or anything that feels unclear. I’m especially interested in whether the “analyse first, clean up safely” idea makes sense.

Thanks for taking a look, and I hope you find it useful :)
