Wanna know your insights on this guys..

Why are Samsung tablets getting worse day by day? (They are intentionally stripping features from capable hardware)

This isn't a standard rant about a minor software glitch. This is about a calculated, anti- consumer move where Samsung is actively stripping core Ul elements and productivity features from highly capable hardware-and using bold-faced lies about "performance limitations" to justify it. πŸ˜•

I use samsung tab s10 fe and with the recent update of one ui 8 the blur effect on quick panel was replaced with a 'ugly grey block'. I thought it was a bug cuz i used to have blur on one ui 7 and it ran perfectly without any lag but later I came to know that it was removed permanently and with the one ui 8.5 it got worse. First they removed classic dex and replaced it with a 'new' dex which is just looked tablet interface and then they removed blur from their newest Fan edition tablet i.e. s10fe on the name of performance and it doesn't make sense because it ran perfectly before and it can handle the new real time blur too! The tablet scores 1.2 million+ on antutu and they are calling it 'low spec' device! And for context i have an 14 years old ipod touch 5th gen from 2012 and it can handle ios 9 real time blur (as you can see in the pictures). This proves that it wasn't a hardware excuse.

Do you guys agree with me ?

galaxy s25 heating fried my sim card

i've never had a sim card go dead on me before when it was exactly where it was meant to be - in the sim tray. bought a galaxy s25 about a month back because i couldn't stop thinking about the navy blue color. this morning when i woke up my phone said emergency calls only. i called the service provider and everything on their end was ok so they said something must be wrong with the sim. i argued with them thinking this must be some planned obsolence trick to get customers to move to a new batch of sim cards or go e-sim whatever. then the lady said sim cards can get damaged due to overheating and i was speechless. i feel dumb and stupid. all of this looks like it's my fault.

edit: thanks to everyone who replied. i know it's a minor inconvenience but i'm going through a rough patch so this sent me for a spiral and i had to vent it out somewhere.

Green/pink line occurence

In your experience, how long does it take for a second line to appear after the first? Mine just developed but its minor, barely noticeable. Is there a chance that only 1 appears and stays?

Thanks in advance

Edit: forgot to add, my device is an s23, and was contemplating on just selling or trading it to fund for a new one

Samsung told me in writing (4x) I could keep the promo monitor and get a full refund. Then they kept $700, gave me a dead shipping label, promised me extra time, and ran out the clock on my return window. Now: "system limitations, no refund."

Timeline, all documented in screenshots:

June 2 β€” Started a return on my 32" M9 M90SF ($1,224.99) which came with a free Odyssey G7 G70D as a bundle promo.

June 11 β€” The rep initiating my return told me I could keep the free G7 and still get a FULL refund on the M9. I asked him to confirm 3-4 separate times. His exact words: "You just keep the free monitor okay nothing to worry with that." So I shipped back only the M9.

Samsung refunded ~$450 of my $1,250. They deducted ~$700 for the promo monitor. Same day, a second rep admitted "the confusion of our previous agent," promised the remaining balance ("Consider it done, you will get the email confirmation within 24-48 hours"), then later said to return the G7 using the SAME shipping label.

June 16 β€” FedEx rejects me: label already used (yes β€” I used it for the M9, like they told me to). Third rep promises a NEW label by email in 24-48 hours, refuses to extend my return window (closing June 18), but says in writing: "If you receive a new return label after the return window, you will still be given some time to return the order."

The label never came.

June 25 β€” New rep: return window closed June 17, "as per our system limitations, we are unable to process a return or refund once the return window has expired." Also now tells me bundles must be returned together and partial returns aren't accepted β€” which means their own agent should never have told me to keep the G7 in the first place. Asked for a supervisor, got given a 1-800 number.

So Samsung: gave me false info in writing, kept $700, gave me a dead label, promised extra time in writing, stalled past their own deadline, then used that deadline to deny everything.

I've filed a dispute with Affirm (financed through them) with all these screenshots. Also filing BBB and state AG complaints. Posting so others don't fall for the "you can keep the free promo item" line β€” get it in writing AND don't believe it anyway, apparently.

One month after first post

Device - S23

1st post - https://www.reddit.com/r/Scamsunged/s/B7vqFIbuTo

" These all started after a single One UI 8 update, and it didn't happen all at once β€” it gradually got worse every day.

There's not a single scratch on my phone and I have used it with a case from the day I bought it .
I don't remember it falling down for even ones.
The cracked part on screen is screen guard , which was cracked not even from falling on the ground , but from slightly hitting on the table , which I didn't even notice at first .
it broke two week after the green line started showing up so that is not the cause .

I don't game on my phone , or do any intense tasks . I just use it for calling , texting and 1 - 2 hrs of instagram or other social media apps .

To the people saying its not because of update and it because of my usage, are you saying that the so called flagship s23 cant even handle these tasks "
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now the battery is swelling?

I didn't even use the phone that much in the last month [ Have a secondary phone ]
My sister uses it sometimes [ listening to music and stuff ]
Never was in a switched off state

Cheap parts + low quality control + planned obsolescence

Climate change may be the best reason for green lines.

A decade ago, lines on screen wasn't so prevalent, and if it were, it was largely deemed as user fault or just unlucky. Nowadays, we are seeing more daily occurance and news articles about green lines, but it was largely accepted as a combination of heat and software updates causing phones to heat up.

But this theory doesn't make sense, a decade ago, phones were heating up during software updates, but the issues with screens didn't appear widespread until around 2020, with the galaxy note 9 green screen which I hear people were also blaming on the updates which caused the phone to heat up? And back then issues with lines on the screen wasn't a huge issue that news articles are covering.

But, very few, had mentioned something about climate change? According to the Samsung website, the best optimal temperature to operate our phones are in 0-35C. Some countries ambient temperatures already exceeded the recommended temperature due to climate change causing extreme temperatures in the upside and the downside.

Our phones love stability, but however, with recent events our global temperatures have been steadily increasing, with drastic weather. Some days, it may be very hot and very cold. The stability that our phones once had is no longer possible. Our phones are going through daily hardships, with it heating up whilst you're gaming, texting or using social media. This is the type of passive heat that destroys your screens and battery like what news articles mention about green lines being caused by software updates.

At the end of the day, technology works best at certain temperatures, but these temperatures that manufacturers guarantee works best on, is shrinking, if not impossible to achieve in certain countries. Manufacturers like Samsung needs to up it's game on heat. They should make sure that their technology can last during extreme heat waves.

Samsung India denied free screen replacement, how much should i pay for the screen replacement??

So, the last 10 days have been very stressful. A green line came out of nowhere, and Samsung first denied my request for a screen replacement. Then I tweeted on X, after which they asked me to create a job sheet and said they would get it done.

So I contacted the service center, and they asked me to bring the original box and bill with me. (I am currently doing my summer training and am about 150 km away from my house, so one of my friends traveled all the way here to give me the box and the bill.)

On Monday, I gave my phone to the service center. The guy said the phone would stay with them until the repair was done. (As I said earlier, I am currently doing my summer training, so I had to put my SIM card in a guy's phone who is living in the same PG as me, and I had to make all my calls via WhatsApp from my laptop.) ( when the guy sent me the job-sheet he mentioned normal wear-n-tear on one bottom corner of the phone , caused due to reputative sliding on phone cover as a "DENT ON THE METAL FRAME"

Then it was a week of constantly emailing customer support my bill, box images, and literally spending all day waiting for their call. Yesterday, they called and told me that they could not give me a free repair.

Now I am too tired to talk to customer service anymore or wait for my device to get fixed, so I am going to pay for the repair myself and never buy a Samsung again because the experience wasn't what you expect after buying a flagship phone.

I am 19, and this incident alone taught me enough about how much these corporations care about consumers. I literally fought and argued with my father and other family members when buying a Samsung. Everybody suggested I should just buy an iPhone.

Guess they were right after all.

enough ranting from my side , sorry i am just frustrated cuz i used to love my phone so much and took great care of it

so in short -

if anybody here has already replaced there display in India due to a green line, how much did you pay?
and how much should i pay? should i get it done from the authorized service center or some third party shop?also give me any advice regarding this

thanks for reading my rant , link to the post i made when the line came - https://www.reddit.com/r/S23/s/irjRSATd34

$1,000 for an S22+ and I'm already on my second display. Green lines are back.

Bought my S22+ back in December 2022 for around $1,000, and this is the quality I get? Absolutely disappointing.

The infamous green lines started appearing about a year ago, so I had the display replaced for another $200. Now the green lines are back again.

To make things worse, the phone frequently overheats even when I'm barely using it. It gets hot while idle, and sometimes even in an air-conditioned room.

For a flagship device that cost this much, I expected far better durability and reliability.

Scam

So, Samsung India ended its green line replacement policy in June 2026 for S23, and people who bought phones after one year won't be getting any free replacements if any lines happen with their phones.

Previously, this policy stated that if the line occurred within three years of the purchase date, it would be replaced for free, but now they ended it in June.

Which display type is the most likely to face green line issue in Samsung Galaxy devices?

Based on Samsung forums here: https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s/screen-displays/m-p/30216573/highlight/true#M40161

>Dynamic 2X AMOLED, LTPO Dynamic AMOLED, or Super AMOLED+ (A73, A71, M51) all of these prone to green line issue
only Super AMOLED (no plus) on most A series device such as A55, A54, A53, A35, A34, A33, etc strong enough to to suffer green line issue, also AMOLED display (no Super, no plus) in galaxy fit3 also great against green line

  • display types which are more prone to be affected with green lines: Dynamic 2X AMOLED, LTPO Dynamic AMOLED, or Super AMOLED+ Plus
  • less likely to be affected with green lines: Super AMOLED (without plus), IPS LCD, PLC LCD

For your reference, you can find which type of display is used in the Samsung smartphone based on GSMArena website.

I searched online in reddit for the green line issues based on the model and the display type in GSMArena, and I found it generally holds true. The green line issue usually occurs during 2 year old mark. I wonder if this is a manufacturing defect in these type of displays, I'm not sure.

My turn! 😭 Scamsunged for the last time, fr fr

This is what I get on my phone after OneUI 8.5 update(2 weeks later btw). My battery now also drains 25-49% overnight(like bro, what's going on?!?!)

I have to wait for a "fix" via security patch update which is 3 months away, and I know my battery health will have degraded so bad.
