When a Space Marine squad is assigned as Aggressors or Inceptors, what do the other 4 Marines go do?

A squad is 10 Marines, and presumably they stay together as a formation when they're re-equipped for different tasks - going from basic Intercessors to Hellblasters or Infernus squads just means they take a different gun, being deployed as Heavy Intercessors or Reivers means they get different armor, etc. Even being promoted to Veteran or Terminator squads means they just get different kit.

Some squad types are deployed in groups of 6, however - Aggressors, Inceptors, Centurions and Eradicators all deploy in these under-strength squads.

When the commander decides their order of battle (IE who will be doing what and with what gear) and assigns a squad to be armed as Eradicators, where do the other 4 Marines go? Are they assigned to the vehicle pool as drivers or gunners? Are they left on the ship as crew?

Map game is dangerous

I want to play as soon as I get home. I want to play as soon as I wake up. I want to play at work. I want to play while shopping.

"He would fistfight the sun if he thought it was telling him what to do", describing Orikan the Diviner. One of my favorite lines in one of my favorite Warhammer books.

Are there other one-sentence summaries that fit their subjects so well?

Was talking with someone at my LGS about how tough Custodes are to face, and it got me wondering what our best tactics are against a faction that's almost entirely the equivalent of Terminators (T6, 2+/4++, 3W).

Sure there won't be all that many of them on the board, but their Allarus can Deep Strike into position and their bikes are pretty damn fast as well.

It's only been like 3 years since I started playing, maybe it's time I started doing bases :D

Started with Two Thin Coats Ethereal Green, followed by lines of Army Painter Meteor Rock. Added jade chip from Etsy.

Sealed with Vallejo Matte Varnish, then applied Citadel Mordant Earth crackle paint.

Once fully dried/cracked, sealed again with Vallejo Ultra-Matte Varnish.
