Despite the elites siding with humanity and destroying the Covenant in 3, they return in Halo 4 because “alot can happen in 4 years” without further explanation

Not to mention Chief’s random quote prior to that statement: “I thought we had a truce with the cOvEnAnT???”

In 4/5/6 Chief grows depressed over an AI asset he knew for approximately 49 days instead of the rest of his spartan fam who passed during the fall of Reach and throughout the war effort.

The Elite’s are blind Arbiter, but I will make them see!

Aside from this being a gag I do genuinely wish 343 fanboys would offer more respect to Bungie’s games and lore.

You could contradict that statement and beg to differ, but if you go to r/shithalosays you will only find the most toxic individuals the Halo community has to offer.
And I’d say the upmost MAJORITY there think Halo 4 and 5 stand the test of time and were absolutely flawless, and that Bungie’s games are old therefore horrendous.
And then they will claim you wear the biggest nostalgia glasses of em all.

All I gotta say is, if it weren’t for toxic peeps, I’d have more respect despite being strongly against what I consider to be bad writing decisions.

Anyone think Fireteam Raven will be in the Halo CE Remake?

Despite how recent the arcade title is, I think it would be cool to see them pop up!
Such as all the moments when Chief is cameo’d in the arcade game.
I don’t expect them to be on comms or anything, but it would be cool to see one of em’ show up in their unique armor as an easter egg here and there!

Do you guys prefer old or new powerups?

On one hand, the new version of powerups involving the puck allows you to activate it whenever.
Though if there’s a firefight and you’re trying to activate an overshield, it could become problematic since it takes upwards of about 2 seconds or so.
That alone sorta makes me prefer the original powerups in multiplayer matches, other than active camo of course.

Another bonus question I’d like to ask is if you guys think the games should have newer powerups, perhaps akin to Doom 2016 with Quad Damage or Super Speed?

What are the worst FPS games you’ve ever played?

In my personal collection I’d say these are my least favorite by far.
Overall, most of these I wish just had more improvement over time.
Killzone Shadowfall was so bad that it was Sony’s FINAL first person exclusive.
Halo 4 and 5 was the downfall of the franchise.
F.E.A.R. 3 and Resistance 2 were games trying to follow the Call of Duty/co-op trend but ultimately fell flat (same could be said for Halo 4).
And Ghosts, is just ghosts.
But I will admit, Ghosts was only the worst COD of its time.
Everything Activision has made now makes Ghosts look like a cinematic masterpiece.

Personally I think the book version is my favorite for lore and extended context and such.
But I do love the Marvel comics quite a bit for their presentation even though it is shorter with only about three hardbook copies!
I’d say the movie version of the Fall of Reach is my least favorite for the dramatization of certain scenarios, a strong lack of context and for being so short only covering a third of the book.
I do gotta give the film some credit for getting me into Halo in the firstplace nonetheless!
My grandmother found it on Netflix when it first released and we watched it for a movie night lmao.
And for anyone that intends to bring up the lore “retcon” between the story and Halo Reach, the loose ends are wrapped up in Halsey’s journal that comes the Limited Edition version of the game.
The book is also written by Eric Nylund, the author of Halo The Fall of Reach and Halo First Strike.
It is quite unfortunate that the Journal was only available in the Limited Edition copy of Reach since some people seem to not know of the patch that covers the retcon.
But all in all, Cortana was already on the Pillar of Autumn like she was in the book. The Cortana that Noble Team delivers are just fragments since Halsey still required pieces of her for some last minute research.
It’s sort of a choppy makeup, but at least it settles a retcon better than 343 ever could with their games.
And honestly, the story that Bungie told with Reach was worth it.
