New Chair Day! Pics and initial impressions

Super excited to receive my Nova Gaming Embody today! I bought it on the 25% off gaming sale and had been eyeing it for a while.

I was a bit worried about how well the Nova colourway would work in my dark blue home office, but at least to my eye it looks pretty good! I know the Ignite would probably have worked a bit better given my overall colour scheme (dark room with white desk and furniture, light grey couch) but I didn’t want to risk the lighter fabric. God forbid I drop something while snacking. 😬 I am swapping to a new desk with black legs, so that’ll help it fit in a bit more, and overall I’m still workshopping my setup (I’m sure once properly installed again my Philips hue lights will add a nice purple accent to tie in the back, but I guess we’ll see).

My first impressions so far are pretty great—it was pretty much immediately comfy for me, although I wish the seat had a bit more give/a bit of a softer feel. I’m hoping it’ll break in a bit and be even more comfortable. I’ve read a bunch of stuff about some people finding the chair very uncomfortable in prolonged use, and I’m hoping that won’t be my experience after I’ve sat in it for a few more hours.

I’m not the tallest or fittest, and the chair is fitting me well as a 170 cm 88kg person. Honestly, I don’t get the complaints about the arm rests, I think they work well and are sufficiently soft (certainly softer than my old ~400 euro ergonomic chair).

I do notice the lack of headrest compared to my previous chair and just pulled the trigger on an Atlas—hopefully that’ll sort the issue for me!

I might post again with my more thorough review once I’ve had a chance to test the chair out for longer (including with the headrest and my planned setup upgrades), but I just wanted to share some pics and early thoughts, since I haven’t really seen many setups with the Nova (especially in dark coloured rooms) or impressions by chubby shorties like me 😁

Lemme know if you have any questions and I’ll do my best to answer!

Help with undervolting/overclocking PNY card

Hey everyone! I’m completely new to the world of undervolting/overclocking. I ran my 3080 at stock settings, but the consensus on this sub seems to be that UV/OC is a good idea with the 5080 cards.

I’ve got a PNY GeForce RTX 5080 16 GB ARGB 3X OC card and I’d ideally like to minimise temps and noise (while maximising performance and stability), since I’ve got it in a mini ITX build (nr200) sitting right next to me on my desk.

How should I go about the UV/OC? Do I need to download a programme (I’ve seen MSI afterburner mentioned, but does that work for PNY cards), and what should I set the settings at to maximise performance and minimise noise while ensuring stability in all my games?

I would prefer a one and done situation rather than having to tinker with it for different games. If it’s relevant, I play mostly AAA single player games like Cyberpunk, RDR2, Witcher 3, etc. and have a 7800x3d.

Also if anyone has any suggestions on how I should be adjusting fan curves if I want to minimise noise on this card, I’d massively appreciate it! 🙏
