Help deciding between 5080

Hello,

I need advice on choosing between 5080

I have 2 stores near me and one is selling as Asus prime 5080 gpu for 1252 us dollars and another is selling the ROG astral 5080 for 1551 us dollars.

Is it worth getting the astral? Tbh i don't really care about ascetics I just want a GPU that lasts and is good. but that extra 300 dollars is a lot. I could basicly buy 32GB of ddr5 ram 6000MHz with that.

would love some opinions

Aorus Master 5080 OC/UV "templates" needed

Well i would baisically love to have like 3 or 4 templates to use as a basis for my oc and uv

give me your stable Oc + UV numbers and i will try them and work oraund them

1: Lowest power+lowest temp at 2.8ghz stock speed

2: A balance between lower temps and extra performance oraund 3ghz

3: maximum OC/UV i can try to achieve in theory without hurting my gpu.

(im currently trying 3.2ghz at 1.005V in a x3d speedway stress test)

What has been your experience with the 5080 Astral or Gaming Trio?

How is everyone? Right now I'm deciding between these two graphics cards, I don't know which one to choose clearly yet, if I wanted to know your experience with each one, if they have it, each comment would help me a lot to decide, thank you very much to everyone

Is this a safe 12V-12x6 cable installation?

I recently bought an RTX 5080 TUF OC, with it I'm using the Corsair 1000x 3.1 PSU.

I'm wondering if this can be deemed as a safe installation, I never pushed it down or anything, this is just gravity doing it's work and I don't know if this bending is acceptable or not.

Thanks.

RTX 5090 or RTX 5080

Ok community, I currently have an RTX 3090. I want to upgrade to an RTX 5000 series for gaming. I really want an RTX 5090, but the burning power connector is a big red flag. Is the burning power connector a problem on the 5080 since it draws less power?? My PSU is Corsair HX1500i.

RTX 5080 can’t reach set overclock in few games and Benchmark

I have a graphics card RTX 5080 MSI VANGUARD SOC. I am currently running at a core clock of 3150 mhz and +2000 to memory and voltage of 111%. The problem is that in games like the new AC or BF6 I go to a clock of 3120 mhz, but in a game like Stellar Blade or in a benchmark like Speed Way I can't get more than 2990 average, while the graphics card reaches performance and has no drops and I have the same behavior with Stellar Blade. These mentioned problems happen even when the graphics card is at full performance.

Gave up on PC Gaming … Again

Well, I bought the power spec G765 with the RTX 5080 graphics card from Micro Center

The first one I bought over the weekend, I brought home and it was dead on arrival.

The second one I brought home last night worked until this morning and is now dead and not outputting video

After eight hours of four trips to Micro Center, I’ve given up on PC Gaming.

Great Card but PC is not the same

So I got the RTX 5080 along with a new 1000w power supply about a week ago. My games run much better and I have a more enjoyable experience when they actually work.

After I changed my graphics card my pc just does not work the same. Crashes on Tarkov that never happened with my other graphics card in started happening. Now when I try to play He’ll Let Loose Vietnam, my computer will either entirely crash out of nowhere or the game will crash when trying to join a server. Same thing with Squad. When I try to join a server, as it’s loading in, the game just crashes. I don’t know what’s going on but at this point in time I wasted my money.

UPDATE: Ran a DDU and seems to be working fine so far. Will let you know if something happens.

UPDATE 2: I notice my CPU jumping to 100C when trying to load in the servers then the game shuts down. Could upgrading from a 4070 to 5080 make my cpu run hotter?

5080 ASTRAL VS 5080 MSI GAMING TRIO?

Hi, I'm trying to choose between these two but can't decide which one to go for. Personally, I prefer the Astral, but I've heard a lot of people say it's very noisy, so I'm unsure. Could someone please help me?

Made it to the team

With all the price hikes I have been searching Facebook for a good deal before things get worse. Finally found one for msrp of $1000 brand new and couldn’t pass it up.

A bit overkill for this setup but at this price why not.

Coming from a gigabyte 9070xt and was shocked at the size comparison.

5080 Family

Hiii everyone,

I recently bought a gaming PC with a 5080!!! I come from a GTX 970m 2014 laptop so the upgrade is a huge difference. So far very happy

I do have a question, the PC came with a PNY stick, could you guys tell me what it's for? Is it to hold the GPU in place?

I checked and the GPU already has a holder as seen in the picture.

And a second question i have is can i leave the 5080 overclocked forever (until i eventually upgrade 7 or 8 years down the line)? I used the Nvidia app automatic tuning to overclock it and I'm wondering if i can just leave it like that but I don't want risk damaging my GPU.

Thank you guys!!!

Scored this ASUS ROG G700 RTX 5080 PC for $1,900 — tested everything and it’s healthy 🔥

Picked up this PC for $1,900 and spent some time running tests to make sure I didn’t inherit someone else’s problems lol.

Specs include:
RTX 5080
Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF
32GB DDR5-6000
2TB NVMe
ASUS ROG system/motherboard

Ran Cinebench 2026 and HWiNFO monitoring:
Cinebench results:
RTX 5080: 109,994 pts
265KF Multi Thread: 7,613 pts
265KF Single Thread: 542 pts
GPU peaked at only ~61°C, memory junction hit 70°C, and the CPU peaked around 90°C under the full multicore load with no thermal throttling.

Also checked the SSD with CrystalDiskInfo: 100% health, only about 103 power-on hours, and no errors.
Everything passed, no crashes or instability, and the 5080 is running great.

Considering I paid $1,900 for the whole PC, I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out.
How’d I do for $1,900?

2 months update

Im pretty impressed with the performance this GPU can give. I dont use overclocking on my GPU.

Temps are amazing max it goes is 45 40 in most games. Its quiet and silent have fans on %60 overall i love the card. I mainly play alot of warzone.
