Quick impressions of latest batch of RTX 300 BTO
Pros
- Amazing ride quality. Excellent cruising manners and glides through broken roads.
- great handler in twisties
- reliable performance. Did almost 500kms tour on a hot sunny day and it didn’t show any tantrums
- electronics package at this price in simply amazing. On screen TPM is great for touring
- coming from Duke 390 Gen3, engine performance and vibration are not too bad. Just don’t expect Honda and Yamaha levels of smoothness
- 34kmpl for those who need to know. 80% touring and 20% city
- went through 1-2 hours of torrential rain last week in Mumbai. No issues of water mixing yet in 500 kms post rains. Fingers crossed
Cons
- engine heating up in 10-20 min of stop and go traffic. But cools down real quick to normal once you get upto 10-20 kmph speed for few minutes also
- tank capacity is very average and fuel stops need to be planned well around 250km mark
- fit and finish are average. Noticeable squeaks from panels within 500kms and both mirrors coming loose at high speeds despite of repeated adjustments
- heavy inclines with pillion need planning to avoid stalling
- engine harshness at some high rpms is very bad

- Booked in early June26, Aug 26 manufactured and Sept mid delivered. Got an early delivery as someone may have cancelled. Just casual WhatsApp follow up with the dealer made them reach out when they had stock
