How do I remove the bottom bar?

It's on the home screen and in every app. There's no option for it in navigation bar gestures. I read it had something to do with Samsung wallet but I don't have that app installed

Picked up the Z Fold 8 Ultra 512GB today for $400

I've been using my Z Fold 4 for almost 4 years now and it's been a great phone (minus my hatred for Samsung's bloatware), but it's starting to show its age and it's been freezing up occasionally.

Verizon has a current promotion running for upgrading a line to their newest service plan, along with trading in an eligible device and you get a Z Fold 8 256GB for free ($1900 credit over the course of 36 months). I opted for the Ultra with 512GB, which is $2300. So my payments are $11/mo for the next 36 months. Not bad.

Update to the mini dash

I still have to add a few more pages, but I actually like the position and how it turned out. Plus, the fact that there isn't a huge extra rectangular case and display sticking out is nice.

Don't go cheap on oxygen sensors

Hopefully, others can learn from my mistake. I got a P2A03 code (B2S1 performance) a few days before I had to go through emissions. I ended up buying a claimed "authentic" Denso AFR sensor from a seller on eBay. They had dozens of positive reviews and only a handful of negative ones. I did think it was odd that the sensor came in a red and white box (in the first pic) and not a normal blue Denso box, but I installed it anyway.

When it was about halfway in, it started to bind up and got really tight, but then it freed up and went in like normal. I passed emissions, but the car still wasn't running right. Fuel trims were all over the place on bank 2. After about a week, the P2A03 code came back. That combined with the fuel trims made me think the sensor was a knockoff so, I bought another, this time from Concept Z.

When attempting to remove the eBay sensor, it came out about halfway and, again, started to bind up, but this time it completely seized. I couldn't get it to screw in or out anymore so I stopped, not wanting to damage the manifold, and I took the car to a Nissan performance shop to have them remove it. They got it out, but the sensor bung came with it. Now I get to remove my driver's side manifold and see if it can be fixed or replace it.

Comparing the 2 sensors, there are many difference from etching style to wire gauge to the tip opening. This $50 eBay Denso has now cost me about $500 and I still have to pull the manifold and fix/replace it. The moral of the story is, don't go cheap on O2/AFR sensors.

Review of $20 Rebuilt OEM Injectors

I was having an issue with bank 2 constantly being lean and the short term fuel trim being high to compensate. After spending many hours trying to figure out why, I decided to pull the injectors on bank 2 and test them. It seems the internal filters had disintegrated in all 3 injectors and the remaining pieces of the filter basket (see pics) were floating around inside and clogging the injectors. I pulled bank 1's injectors also and 1 of the 3 had the same issue. My car has 94k miles.

I tried to salvage them, but the 4 wouldn't hold pressure. My tags expired at the end of May so, I had the bright idea of buying a set of super cheap injectors on Amazon ($70 for all 6) hoping they would at least get me through emissions and then I would save up for a new OEM set. Terrible idea. The car ran like crap with the cheap injectors installed. The STFTs were maxed out, as seen in the pic, and anything over half throttle would cause the car to buck and jerk. I returned them.

Then I found Injector Planet that claimed rebuilt OEM injectors for $20 each (you can also send them your injectors and they will rebuild them and send them back for $13 each). They say the injectors are OHM tested, disassembled and externally cleaned, internally cleaned via numerous ultrasonic baths using non-hazardous solutions, back-flushed to remove all internal debris, pressure / leak tested, spray / flow tested, static and dynamic flow matched using an ASNU machine and re-assembled with new high quality components. So, I ordered them.

I posted some side by side pics with my old ones. All of the injectors say Denso 0950 and they all came with new upper and lower seals. I installed them with my fingers crossed. To my surprise, the car fired right up. Fuel trims are back to normal, no bucking or jerking and no lean condition codes. Now, I'm in the process of completing the drive cycle for emissions readiness and then I'll go take the test.

Just thought I'd share my experience, in case anyone else is in the same boat.

Frank (MotorvateDIY) and the GTR gauges are still alive

Many of you guys have seen my mini dash setup (video is in my profile) and quite a few of you have also made your own. I modeled mine after Frank's, for the most part.

We were all excited when he posted that the GTR gauges were done, but then he went silent, which led to a universal "WTF?" from the community.

In my efforts to gather info and try to recreate the GTR gauges, I came across this post on MyG37. It's a reply from Frank on Feb 18, 2026 to a comment some one made about him shelving the GTR gauges and focusing on a different project.

"Heck no!

With the new rules, I have no idea how to sell into the US.

I'll figure it out, but until then, I've decided to use the last year to develop a wireless oil pressure gauge and a "mini GTR gauges" for cars without navigation.

Watching your oil pressure takes away all the worry of low oil pressure due to failing oil gallery gaskets.

In fact, when I unplug the GTR gauges to data log the CAN bus, I feel anxious, as I don't know the oil pressure that moment. Silly, but true!

The oil pressure gauge above isn't an Apple watch. It is this nice display: https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/ESP32...uch-AMOLED-1.8

I will also be looking into getting them manufactured in the US and selling the firmware via a download.

BUT I need to make sure everything is done by the book with regards to tax & duties.

I'm also in the process of redesigning the GTR gauges hardware to be much smaller.

The v1 board is about 1" x 7" and the new one will be about 1" x 1".

Also, the GTR gauges have been running on my G37 for over 3 years and I've caught a few minor items and fixed them.

The firmware has proven to be reliable and not cause any other issues. After all, we are kind of doing things that the G/Z wasn't designed for.

Lastly, I need to apologize for dropping off forums and social media and not replying to messages / posts.

In the beginning of 2025, I started a new full time job, which left me with evening and weekends for devlopment work.

Anyways,

That's all for now.

Frank"

Repurposing the completely useless, redundant and usually not working "Elegant Clock"

This is a semi-update to the mini dash. I wanted a more integrated look and less of an added-on look. I ran some wires to be able to use the clock buttons to change pages in the mini dash. There will have to be more pages and less info per page since this display is much smaller. Yes, I know it isn't straight, but this was just for testing.

This is the mini dash video, if you didn't see it

Making a mini dash with fuel and oil pressure and oil temp

I decided to try and pick up where Frank (u/MotorvateDIY) left off with his mini dash. The main difference between his setup and mine is, he was using an Arduino Nano and an external Bluetooth module (which he called a Bluetooth sensor server) for his under-hood module, which could support up to 8 sensors. I'm using an ESP32, which has built-in Bluetooth and can support up to 15 sensors.

Of course, he eventually did away with the mini dash in favor of the GT-R gauges he unlocked inside the factory nav unit, something he was working on for 5+ years, but then went completely silent on. I'm unsure why (cease and desist from Nissan? Fallout with a partner? Idk.), but hopefully he is doing ok.

I've looked into the GT-R gauges (all the info is stored in every nav unit from 2010+), but to access it, it seems you need the resurrection stone, a Witcher's potion and an arrow to the knee. Unlocking the hard drive and gaining console access is above my know how.

If you are new to the G37 community and don't know what I'm talking about, welcome. I'll link some of his videos in the first comment. If you aren't new to the G37 community, but still don't know what I'm talking about, welcome, and thank you for coming out from beneath that rock you've been living under. I'll link some of his videos in the first comment.
