Sole proprietor NPI
Can anyone explain who requires a sole proprietor NPI vs not. What does a PA working for an organization require.

Hello, I am a new grad from the northeast. I recently passed the pance and am applying for jobs. I am from the northeast and would be ok living in any state of the northeast and have been applying in multiple states. At this point I’m not sure if I should just apply for a license in my home state where the job market is kind of tough without a job or wait until I have a job. My home state is not part of the compact so if I got a job in another state I think I would need a new state license and have to restart the state licensing process. Can anyone clarify this? I know state licensing can take a few months along with hospital credentialing so I am unsure what to do. Is it better to wait to get a license as some places of employment will reimburse for dea and license. Thanks for the help!
Anybody have any strategy’s for EM jobs on the East Coast that would be open to new grads. Or organizations?
Do you reach out to the recruiter when applying for jobs if they are listed. Or do you wait some time. My school career center had told me to reach out like a week later if you haven’t heard anything. Is it inappropriate to reach out when you apply?
Anybody a PA in Washington DC? What are the hospital systems to look into or avoid?!
I always liked reading these posts so I figured I would share.
In order of when they were taken:
Packrat1 preclinical: 142
EORs:
psych: 410
Family Medicine: 403
Women’s Health: 406
Surgery: 398
Pediatrics: 415
EOC: 1503
Emergency Medicine: 426
Internal medicine: 432
Packrat: 172
PANCE: 460 52 topics wrong
Took it 8/1 and found out results this morning
I took the PANCE 1 week after graduating. I had bought Uworld with 50% complete with a score of 70%. With Uworld I thought that the questions leave out a specific detail about a condition and therefore make it harder. Also has the same preface as the pance which is helpful. I think uworlds medical library was very helpful and they have great images
I also used PPP and quizlets I had made throughout the year. My school also gave us 2 weeks of board review with different guest lectures. I had done version A of the NCCPA practice test, thought it had some very similar questions on the pance but also could have been fine without it.
Overall I walked out thinking it wasn’t too bad. I ran out of time in one section and left some blank. My Main takeaways were that it seemed like the lower percentage categories still had a lot of question on the exam, anatomy of conditions is important along with physical exams. Trust everything you’ve done in PA school, you will be ok.
Hello, I am calling NCCPA tomorrow to double check this, but on NCCPA website I only put in my first and last names. For my forms of id (license, social security card) my middle name is also listed. Is this ok or do I need to add my middle name to NCCPA. The website only mentions that only the first and last name need to match. Anyone have any experience with this?
Does anybody have any good study strategies for the professional practice questions on the pance? Do you think the questions from blueprint: uworld are sufficient.
Are you able to highlight and cross out answers on the pance. Are all the questions in a block available on the side or to go back do you have to individual press the questions. How is it taking it on the Pearson computers.
I have a friend who I think is lying that she got into Harvard Med School and will start attending in the fall. Is there any way to see if she is actually accepted/ goes there.
My Uncle in his 50s has bipolar. He was first diagnosed in college back in the 90s. Mental Health Conditions were not talked about like they are today and he hates awkowledging or talking about it.
He hasn’t been able to really hold jobs the past 20 years. He thinks he’s to above to work in retail or a restaurant. He Has blown all of his money and currently lives with my grandma for the past 10 years. Over those years he’s been in and out of treatment for opioid addiction and never follows the exit plan. He self medicates and is not currently on any medication for bipolar. We have been trying to get him to go see the psychiatrist, and he won’t call and schedule an appointment. It has been like this for years. Refuses to believe he needs help and doesn’t take anyone advice.
He is awful with money and blows all his money. He’s totaled two cars in the past 4 months ( likely driving impaired) and literally has no money to his name and drains all my grandmas money. My grandma is well off financially, and won’t kick him out as he’s her son. He stresses her out so much and she should not need to deal with that at her age He recently totaled her car this weekend.
He takes no responsibility for any of his actions, refuses to see a psychiatrist and my family does not know what to do. Obviously we could kick him out of my grandmas but she won’t do that. Any advice on how to get someone to seek help who refuses to believe they need it.
Hi! I am a new grad with an interview in emergency medicine at a large academic medical center later this week with two of the EM PAs. Was curious if anyone had any idea what I should prepare for question wise. Do you think I’ll be pimped on patient cases?
Does anyone have any experience with physician affiliate group in the NYC area. I know they are new grad friendly, but was wondering what the training is like.
Hello, my 2012 Subaru is just a money pit at this point so I am looking into leasing. I am curious to people that have leased for years, do you think it’s cheaper long term because you are not paying for maintaince. I feel like every time I get maintaince I am dropping thousands of dollars. What happens if you get in an accident, while on a lease. In terms of car I am looking for a small suv, considering Subaru forester or Outback. Honda crv/hrv or Toyota rav4. Would like good gas mileage and need all wheel drive for snow. Also blind spot mirrors and back up camera. Would love to know people’s opinions and experience with leasing cars.
I am applying to an EM job that is asking for a covers letter and CV. I feel like my CV at this point of career would be the same as my resume. Is it wrong just to submit the resume?
Hi! I am a new grad about to start interviewing for jobs. When jobs say dress business casual what do you wear, classic business casual or blazer, business suit. Should a blazer, business suit be the norm. Female btw.
