Why do you only have screens on one side of the double pull through chargers?

I was at the new Seffner Florida chargers with the pull through stalls. My port is on the passenger side so I pull into a charger on that side where another car was charging on the other side. It took me a minute to figure out how to pay as there was no screen on my side of the charger.

So after walking around the charger and almost tripping on the other guys cable, I had to stand there awkwardly at the screen while the other driver wondered why I was there on his side of the charger.

That never happens at gas stations and folks will likely get a bit nervous when some random stranger walks up to their car to use the screen on their side.

Please add dual screens to your pull through chargers.

Does anyone else say hello, please, thank you, etc to Coach?

Coach seems so sincere in helping me recover from a recent illness that I feel I should return the courtesy. Sometimes I do, but then I remember that it probably doesn't care but who really knows?

It even knows when my bedtime is coming and it says Good Night. I'll really be freaked out if it starts sending xoxoxo and emogi kisses at night though!

Ionna road trip coming to town!

Well the town, Seffner Florida, is an hour from me and the discount on the charging won't even pay for the round trip! Maybe if they gave a free charge or something I'd check it out to talk shop with the other nerds 😂.

Kia will of course be pushing their Connect subscription.

Has anyone gone to one, are there any worthwhile freebies?

Love the car but hard to recommend

I had a friend mention that they were sick of putting money into their 12yo car and were thinking about getting something else. I let them drive my EV6 for a bit and they loved it so much they joked about me selling it to them! They had only driven in their son's Tesla and were not a fan of everything being accessed through the touch screen.

I'd love to recommend they buy an EV6, but since they are very "non technical" and I won't be able to hold their hand through the inevitable learning pains, I don't want to encourage them, even though they love the style, buttons and immediate torque. Not to mention I'd hate to have the ICCU to fail on them. Add to that the poor reputation of Kia dealerships, it's a hard car to recommend for someone with no knowledge or interest in the tech side of EVs.

Solutions to the multiple queing issues?

Unless and until some worldwide body, or at least a large enough group of OEMs agree on standards for port location, type, throughput, etc, there seems to be no viable solution to the multiple queuing issues at Chargers.

E.G. Not sure who's next to charge, next available charger doesn't work for the next vehicle in line, available charger breaks or just doesn't connect for some reason, etc.

If there is eventually a standard that mitigates most of the issues, then that can be considered Gen 2 of EV charging, and maybe even then, it will be decades before it's all sorted.

Yeah, I know Tesla did it right to get the infrastructure sorted first.
