Had IITK MSE up until round 4 and then got IITR ChE in round 5.

Hostel mess infra was disappointing but made peace with it.

Intern season is almost over and IITR performed terrible with <10 interns from ChE😭😭

I already sacrificed insane college life at IITK and then seeing this, I'm really feeling terrible about my decision and kinda regretting it.

I'm constantly thinking about the other situation if I went for slide😭

Why is the campus culture here so terrible? No senior interaction, no unique culture (K, KGP have great culture like amma baapu, reel2real and what not)

Nothing as such is happening here and the seniors dgaf

Not even concerned about infra its just I just wanted a crazy and colourful campus life with great bonding between peers and seniors

is the curriculum really chill compared to other top 7 IITs? Honestly I didn't find it to be any easier than acads at even IIT D,K

I even regret joining IITR in the first place, should've gone for civil/materials in IITK or Biotech/Textile in IITD or heck even Environmental at IITB

IITR just didn't live upto my expectations, I feel the college might be in a downward spiral

very very poor mess food (that paneer on Sunday was rock hard)

unfathomably poor maintenance: water logging + raw grass in LBS🤡, our rooms got painted on the day we arrived🤡, registered complaints about almirah about 3 days ago and no response🤡

Unnecessarily rude guards (almost feels ki ehsaan kr rhe)

APJ second floor rooms🤡🤡 feels like a coaching class, no where near IIT BDMK LHCs🤡 unnecessarily spaced rooms in APJ and why are the staircases so wide? instead make the rooms bigger

third grade profs🤡 why is my dept prof taking cpp course?

most IITK profs are B.Tech from IIT but here we have them from anywhere with just a PhD from IIT

none of BDMK have campus in time (we have 11pm) and hostel in time for girls

very very limited cheap food options (not CCD) around the campus, found only one small shop near IITRAA

Weather might just be more humid than BDMK and winters I heard are equally cold🤡

People say KGP location is poor and choose roorkee, but do we actually have a better location🤔

The audacity to spend on unnecessary things like 3 fucking 70inch TVs inside one mess, what's the point? Why do they play item songs during dinner and devotional songs during breakfast😭

Which IIT has classes on Saturday?? What the fuck, IITR has an image of chill acads🤡

The worst part was our orientation🤡 2 days of orientation opposed to 1 week orientation in B,D,K,BHU

The only one good thing I found was the hostels, pretty decent

TLDR: didn't like the environment of IITR, hoping to make good friends so that time passes quickly

DISCLAIMER that this post is a rant, most details are NOT over exaggerated, but my overview of the college so far. Not really loving the experience here

Edit: IIT D,K,KGP get criticised enough for the short comings, water logging and space constraints are an issue there as well. What I want to convey is I fail to find criticism for IITR, mostly everyone says its good its good. That's not how a healthy environment works
