Cycle - Perthshire to Assynt

Hello r/outdoorscotland,

I am wanting to bikepack from Perthshire to Assynt and wondered if anyone here's ever done this before. Google maps is showing me a route via the Cairngorms via the A9 which seems to be the wrong way and I'd rather not cycle the A9 for obvious reasons. Can't seem to find any cycle routes that would take me up to Assynt though. Recommendations/ideas/tips would be very much appreciated.

'men don't know what their role is anymore'

My husband, who is a white cis male raised in a Christian household, has had to do a lot of self examination since meeting me, a mixed race feminist animist. There are many things he was not aware of until I pointed it out to him, and although we sometimes clash about certain topics, he usually comes round once he's done some reflecting and reading up on things.

We have a two year old son, and as we all know, all is not well when it comes to the mental health of boys and men these days. My husband has been listening to podcasts and doing some reading on the topic and often mentions something along the lines of: 'back in the day it was easier for men, because all they had to do was go to work and provide knowing that the wife was looking after the kids and household.' now that this has changed men don't quite know what their role is anymore.'

Both of us work. I am currently transitionong from being employed to self employed as since having my son life has changed and I can't keep up working in the same way that I was (neither do I want to). My husband has been very supportive of this - he also fully supported me to go back to work when I wanted to, basically, I don't think that he would want me to be a stay at home wife (also, it wouldn't be viable anyhow as he doesn't earn enough). I would say he's been extremely supportive and pulls his weight, although I am definitely doing more of the caring work due to several factors (home more, breastfed for 2 years out of choice, cosleeping).

Something about this line of thought he keeps bringing up bothers me. I'm wanting to challenge him on this and open up a conversation, and need a bit of help/perspective from this sub please.

Endo doesn't want me back on cab

I was diagnosed with raised prolactin levels about 7 years ago, had an MRI scan but it showed no tumour ( I suspect I had prolactin issues since at least 2012 due to the symptoms I was experiencing then). I've had issues with raised prolactin every year since then, besides 3 of them when I was pregnant or breastfeeding. Every time the cab would improve symptoms.

I recently stopped breastfeeding and began experiencing high prolactin symptoms (vertigo, fatigue, headaches) a couple of months later. Went to my GP and they put me back on cab and referred me to endocrinology. It's been two weeks and I have not heard from them, my symptoms have improved a lot though. I had now received a message through my GP from the endocrinology department to not take the cabergoline until I've been to see endocrinology again - I have no idea why. I tried to speak to someone at the endocrinology department today and was fobbed off by the secretary that I need to wait until I'm seen by endo. Phoned my GP again and they told me to keep taking it If I am feeling better. If I stop taking cab I'm worried the symptoms will come back and I don't understand why they don't want me to take it.

Has anyone experienced something like this?

Page of wands in relation to career

I've been in the same sort of job for many years now....after I came back from maternity leave I left my old job only to end up in the same job at another company. I had a bad feeling when I first started and I am starting to feel burned out.

I have been trying/thinking to go self employed in my chosen profession but I have been scared. I have had an urge to quit my current job and throw myself into my freelance work.

I asked the cards: what should I do about my job situation and got the page of wands. I'm reading this as 'just do it/have courage'.

Can I please get some second opinions.
