I love Return of the Jedi so much.
That's it, really. This is just a small ramble about it. I just love everything about it. Maybe it's nostalgia because it's been my favourite since I was a kid, and it still is, but I can rewatch it over and over and still get the same excitement every watch.
Getting to see Jabba and his Palace is so cool! Especially the rancor. And the sarlacc pit fight never gets old.
The reveal from Yoda about Leia being Lukes sister and Luke refusing to give up on his father is such a pivotal and important moment.
And then the second death star is just awesome. And Palpatine excels in this film. He's so fun to watch and see how evil and manipulative he is.
Honestly, the whole Endor sequence is probably one of my favourite parts from the whole franchise. The ground battle with the ewoks and at-sts is such a great time. I love the ewoks. The speeder bikes and scout troopers, too, are some of my favourite troopers and vehicles.
And then the space battle is so awesome. Seeing Lando lead it in the falcon and seeing Xwings, B wings, A wings, Y wings, and more all together against the death star really makes it feel like this huge big battle. I love the tension, too, and the moments where you think it might be it for the rebels.
The Luke vs. Vader fight/sequence is one of my favourite parts in all of Star Wars. I love how it's not about being an epic duel but the emotions and Luke trying to appeal to Anakin. And the music is so amazing in this part. When Vader talks about turning Leia and that choir starts? It's absolutely incredible. And again, Palpatine is just so good in all these scenes.
And then when Luke refuses to give in and turn to the dark side, and Palpatine commits to destroying him? You think this could be it for Luke, but then Vader redeems himself, becoming Anakin again and saving Luke and showing he had that good inside of him. Anakin then admitting to Luke that he was right about him is such an emotional sequence.
The end is just perfect, too. The death star is destroyed, the empire has been defeated, and the good guys get to celebrate the victory. Victory celebration is such a brilliant track, too. It's so fitting. And you get to see the force ghosts of Anakin, Yoda, and Obi Wan see that Luke did it.
Sorry if this is a pretty messy ramble, and I repeated myself, I just love the movie and adore it so much.
