I like that we have Jedi Order 66 survivors, but that 5 council members survived the purge just really bothers me

Obviously Obi Wan and Yoda surviving is a given, I might even understand Eeth Koth since he got killed by Vader.

But Oppo and Coleman?!?!?!? What was the point of them surviving when we don't know what happened to them, and it just leaves Order 66 and the Empire as a whole as less of a threat.

Dave Filioni's original plan of having Plo Koon survive also just adds to that but luckily, he didn't go through with that.

I realize criticizing anything canon on this sub gives you the death penalty but I just find 5 council members running around during the reign of the Empire to be way too high.

What if Obi-wan survived?

What if Obi-wan had survived the duel on the Death Star? (Better if he had avoided Vader on the Death Star altogether.)

Would he have trained Leia alongside Luke? Heck, would Luke have even been able to make the exhaust port shot without the nudge from his force ghost? Would he have revealed their sibling relationship earlier? Would Luke have still gone to Dagobah?

What are some of the heaviest/most emotional quotes in SW?

Sorry, but I honestly think the absolute single heaviest and most underrated line and moment in all of SW...

Is when Vader says "It is....too late for me, son." And after Luke is gone and Vader is alone, when he walks over and puts both hands on the railing, it is as if you can somehow just see (in your minds eye) through the mask. Upon first glance, it looks like he simply walks over and places his hands on the railing, to then look outward on Endor.

Not at all. He literally placed both of his hands on that railing to steady himself, as if he was hit by the hardest blow he has ever experienced. It is as though you can picture both of his eyes closed in sadness, and instead of looking outward, he simply has his eyes closed and is looking down. It was spiritually and emotionally as hard for him to say that....as when he was burning in front of Obi-Wan.

Someone seriously needs to edit that scene and show him contemplating all of the terrible things he has done and those he cared about and lost. He might as well have said "I am already damned, my son." Anyway, I have always considered it one of the heaviest quotes ever, and the actual reason he grabbed the Emperor and gave his life.

Second place?

Like: No father, I have to save you.

Anakin: You already......have. You were right about me. Tell your sister, you were right....

And then the slow and tragic Vader theme that plays only a few notes. And ends with his life.

Let me hear what you guys think.

Dying Cousin

Hello, I have a cousin with terminal cancer who was just put on hospice. There are 12 of us cousins, and i want to get a quote bracelet that we can all wear that will remind us of him whenever we need it. He's a HUGE Star Wars fan so I'm wondering if there are any excellent quotes you guys can think of.
i would appreciate it greatly.

What should a True Sith be like, and which Dark Lords most closely fit this mold?

The Sith Code is incredibly nihilistic. The sole goal of its adherents is to constantly desire and actively strive for ever greater power, so that eventually, no limitations of this world can bind them, thus promising absolute freedom.

At the same time, however, as long as they remain faithful to it, they cannot be satisfied with anything less than this level.

Furthermore, they cannot care about anyone but themselves, because love or morality are also forms of limitation. It's a completely lonely path, ideally under the thumb of completely antisocial, selfish degenerates.

Which Sith Lords met these criteria? Or does being a True Sith not mean following the Code point for point for you?

How would an interaction between these two go?

Just a fun thought I had after watching the movie. I’d say they’d probably have mutual respect for each other. Boba probably would commend Rotta for not in following his father’s footsteps considering that Rotta now works for the New Republic at the end of the movie whereas Rotta probably would praise Boba for not letting that palace go to waste.

Would The Mandalorian and Grogu take place before or after Ahsoka season 1?

Thrawn’s return would be a pretty major turning point in relation to the Imperial Remnants. Given the film is focused around dealing with such, is there any indication that it has occurred by that point? No major spoilers, please.

I made a Star Wars poster with 110 in-universe symbols and would love some feedback

I’m working on a Star Wars poster showing 110 in-universe faction symbols and wanted to get a few more knowledgeable eyes on it before I consider it done.

For now, I chose to keep the selection canon-aligned, but with so many symbols coming from shows, games and reference material, I’m sure there might be a few edge cases.

Are there any symbols that seem out of place, named incorrectly, or worth reconsidering?

I’d really appreciate any thoughtful corrections or suggestions!

Do we know what was contained in the collection of forbidden knowledge hidden in the Jedi Temple on Corruscant?

I heard that after becoming Emperor, Palpatine devoted considerable time to studying the resources there, which strengthened him greatly. Do we know of any specific artifacts or dark side holocrons?

If Maul were forced to team up with Obi-Wan to defeat Palpatine once and for all, would he do it?

Despite his hatred for Kenobi keeping him alive after his defeat at Naboo, the only person Maul seemed to have more hatred towards was Sidious. In a hypothetical scenario, if forming an alliance with Obi-Wan meant the downfall of the empire and the defeat of Palpatine once and for all, would Maul do it? Or do you think he would simply refuse to ever ally with Kenobi and only view him as a foe?

Obsessed with this track from the movie, Ludwig does it again!

30 seconds in and just a great melding of the intensity of the dogfight on screen and intense music. Loved this part.

Original Clone Wars Date

This is something that I do find interesting about the old EU. Originally, before the prequels, it was assumed that the Clone Wars happened much farther back in the timeline, years before the birth of the Empire and the fall of the Jedi Knights. The Clone Wars was not directly tied to either and was instead a separate event.
