I have never seen another SLP do this, and there is a reason for that. Vulnerable kids should not be used to build an audience, generate sympathy, or bring in gifts.
Speech language pathology is supposed to protect dignity, privacy, and trust. Turning kids with disabilities into livestream content is the exact opposite.
Your financial struggles do not entitle you to monetize vulnerable children.
Kids with disabilities are not content. Period.

Miss Mel went live with a client and the client’s parent present while mocking ASHA and saying ASHA has done nothing for her career. She kept pointing to her state license like that made the behavior okay.
People can criticize ASHA. That is not the issue. The issue is doing it on a public live while working with a client and turning it into a joke.
The client was removed from the clip to protect their privacy. The Pennsylvania State Board of Examiners in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology has been made aware of the situation.

Edit: she's only mocking ASHA because her Cs and her license are likely in jeopardy. This is the lady who goes on live doing therapy with her clients, tells them she loves them, calls them her best friend, makes kissy faces, facetimes them from bed, says she only goes live with special clients that are her family, etc.

There is something very wrong and off with this woman. Making fun of special needs is a different level. Get help big Ang or work?

I looked through more of Miss Mel’s public content, and it’s honestly disturbing.
She regularly goes live on TikTok with individuals who appear to be her speech therapy clients, including children. I don’t believe clients belong on public livestreams. Even with parent permission, children cannot truly understand that these videos can be recorded, shared, and remain online forever.
Because of what I found, I filed complaints with both the Pennsylvania State Board and ASHA so they can review whether this conduct meets professional and ethical standards.
I’m sharing this because I think children deserve privacy, professional boundaries, and protection over social media content.
One last thought, as she begs for gifts do the kids get cut of the payment? 😉
