About the Pro Pass Skins

I'm a huge sucker for Crow, bought all his skins except for the bp one and the pro pass one, I can't buy any of those for personal reasons, but I heard that you can get the pro pass skin upgrades from the ranked drops, I finished the free pro pass tier, and I'll have to wait for 8 months until he becomes available in the ranked drops for a 1% chance?!! Like how's that even possible, it'll take you decades just to get a single skin upgrade for that skin you want, how does this even add up man, does Supercell really hate F2P players that much?
