Galaxy Ultra 2 Raised to speak Gemini with the screen off.

I'm sure this is a long shot, but I had the idea while I was riding the bicycle today. I was just thinking, I don't really need the screen to turn on if I'm using raise to speak. I mean, yeah, no visual. You could have a little audio beep or something, but it would almost be like using your phone with Gemini live with the screen off. I do that with my earbud in on the phone.

So the long shot is, has anybody tried it? Does it work?

I mean I get it. It doesn't really make sense a lot of the time because if you for example have the always on display on or lift to wake then it's going to turn the screen on anyway so maybe it's kind of stupid actually to maybe want this. I was just thinking like to save battery it doesn't need to be on every time but then you would have to get rid of the raise to wake.

I guess I just want to know that if it's possible. Doesn't sound crazy that it could be possible.

Samsung makes Apple Watch Ultra 3 display with 1 hertz, but not on their own watches?

Does anyone know why Samsung doesn't put one hertz variable refresh rate displays in their watches while at the same time they make the display for the Apple Watch Ultra 3? I see people wearing the Ultra 3 and the always on display is on and it's just so nice and every Samsung I see is just a blank screen. How can this be happening? And will there ever be a change? Do we know? I mean is it just impossible? Like what are they waiting on?

Ultra 2 Raise to Speak + Waterlock...and a rant

The Ultra 2 with Raise to Speak for Gemini. Does it work with Water Lock turned on?

I'm thinking about this winter when I'm chilling in the ocean in India. I can ponder the universe and get all the answers that I need. What a magical time.✨🤞

Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 - High usage test

I'm curious if somebody who has the Ultra 2 can do a 24-hour test pushing it a bit.

Here's what I'm thinking:

- Pick an AMOLED-friendly, battery-friendly watch face

- Keep always-on display enabled

- Turn everything on

- Use battery protection settings (charge to 90% only)

- See if you can keep it above 20% for 24 hours with always-on display

- Connect to your phone, but if you leave it, switch to LTE auto.

- Use Raise to Speak

- Do a GPS workout

- Use Gemini

- Really push it and see what you can do in 24 hours

Starting at 90% and hopefully not going below 20%. Ideally, you wouldn't go below 40%.

I like to keep it in that range because the charging speeds are faster. After 24 hours, I can throw it on the charger for 20 to 30 minutes, and it'll be back to 90%.

I have the Watch 5 Pro and will likely upgrade to the Ultra 2 soon, so I'm just enjoying the anticipation.

Anybody up for doing a fun tech enthusiast test?

Galaxy Ultra 2, Bixby offline.

I just had my first hands-on with the Ultra 2 in a shop here in Portugal, and it's pretty awesome. I was trying to do as much as I could, though it was a little bit limited in demonstration mode as far as the settings go.

I was testing Bixby, since I wasn't able to test Gemini. Bixby worked really well while it was on Wi-Fi, but when I turned Wi-Fi off, it said it needed to connect to the internet.

I thought we could use Bixby on the watch for some things without an internet connection. Can someone confirm that? I really hope so. Things like setting a timer or a reminder, or making a quick note.

Ultra 2 Raise to Speak and new Bixby

Can the new Bixby on Ultra2 perform some task without internet connection? IE. Set reminders, timer, etc...

If so, can you still speak in natural language?

How quick is it to set a reminder?

Are both Bixby & Gemini Accessible through raise to speak?

The Traveler: 8 Customizable comps + More data

I'm not trying to sell anything here. I'm just sharing my watch face, and if anyone would like it, I can share it with you. That's all. If anybody knows where to post something like this, let me know.

This is a personal project. My goal is to have specific data available at a glance, always on display. It's always on, so I try to make it as battery friendly as possible.

That brings me to this: eight customizable complications — the current time with seconds, the day and date, heart rate, battery percentage, and battery temperature, plus the current temperature and the current day high.

This is mine, fully customized. If you would like it, let me know. I've got the APK, and I can share it. FREE

Watch Ultra 2 Battery Life with Everything Turned On

Hello, good afternoon from Portugal.

I've noticed a lot of posts of people sharing battery life experiences, but I haven't seen anyone post data after leaving everything turned on — always-on display, LTE, Bluetooth connected to the phone.

I'd love to use it fully and see how long the battery lasts. Does anybody have any info about battery life like this?

Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Charge settings and raise to speak.

Does anyone know if the Ultra 2 has added the ability to stop charging at 80%?

And raise to speak — how fast is it working? Can you raise the watch to speak and it picks up voice to text without hesitation? Can you say "open WhatsApp" and it does it really fast? Or "make a call to this person" and it works quickly? Or "set a reminder"?

I'm just curious if, while using raise to speak with Gemini, it works really quickly.

GWU 2 versus Apple Watch Ultra (ios27)

I've mentioned already that I'm very disappointed with the presentation and what they've shown for features for the new Galaxy Watch Ultra.

Samsung is just really not doing a good job of keeping up. I didn't have a reference because I don't have an Apple Watch, but I just watched a YouTube video from Shervin Shares called "Apple Watch OS 27 Beta" and it's way worse than I thought.

The Apple Watch Ultra, which has been out for at least a year now, is way better than the Galaxy Watch Ultra will ever be. The smart features are ridiculous.

The new Siri is just smart. It's actually a smart watch and can do smart things.

I really, really wish Samsung would try to compete with the Apple Watch. What a shame. Sometimes I wish I was in the Apple garden.

Galaxy Watch Ultra 2

I watched the Unpack event and was specifically looking forward to hearing more about the Watch Ultra 2, but I was pretty disappointed by their presentation. They didn't talk about any on-device capabilities regarding the new chipset and the neural processing unit. What can it actually do? I don't think they even mentioned it.

They didn't mention anything about the new Bixby being on the watch. They just didn't mention anything interesting about a smartwatch. This is basically a glorified fitness tracker as far as they're concerned, yet it has the new Snapdragon Elite chipset and LTE.

I would like to use the watch for more of the smart features. We'll see and hear more about it as reviews come out, I hope.

GalaxyWatch Ultra 2026 1Hz Display

I'm a tech enthusiast. I currently have the Watch 5 Pro, and it's definitely the best smartwatch I've ever had. I've never owned any Apple smartwatches, which I would if I could, because I think (could be wrong) their software is far superior, to say the very least, not to mention their hardware. But I digress.

I've tried many smartwatches over the years, and this is the best one (watch 5 pro) for a lot of reasons. But I'm ready to upgrade. I'm really hoping that Samsung will come out with something interesting with the Ultra 2. It doesn't even look like we're getting a 1 Hz display. Samsung makes the display that Apple uses on their watches. They have a 1Hz display where they can keep the always-on display ticking, and yet it doesn't seem like we will get that on the Ultra 2.

Also, I want to be able to stop charging at 80% to save the battery. And 5,000 nits — I don't need that. That's just going to waste the battery faster. The Watch 5 Pro is plenty bright. 2,000 nits.

But the 1 Hz display is like a slap in the face. How could they possibly make that for Apple and not for us? I've been trying to research, and it seems like making that work for a circular display is a problem.

Anyone know?

At the moment, I don't think I'm going to be able to rationalize getting the new watch. Although I am going to keep trying.

🤞

A Custom Watch Face is an Enthusiast Move

For me, one of the main reasons to have a smartwatch versus a regular watch is information at a glance.

I always create a custom watch face that shows all the info I personally want to see. My watch face also needs to be good on battery life, so mostly black background with as minimal addition as possible—especially for the always-on display.

I use Watch Face Studio to make this, and it has been my watch face for maybe 6 months now. With this watch face showing all the info I want to see, it's like having a traditional watch, only way better.

Of course, the watch also has LTE so I can message my wife when I'm out on a long run. I can track my heart rate, health—all of that stuff happens.

But at the end of the day, it's a timepiece. It shows not only the time, but 6 other time zones, battery stat, battery temperature, seconds, temperature outside, current moon illumination percentage, sunset time for current location, step count, rain percentage possibility, and heart rate—all at a glance. And also, the day and the date is pretty amazing.

It's so perfect that I just don't need to change it often. I usually just rearrange things, pick different fonts, mix it up a little bit, but in general, the data stays the same.

It's like a super technologically advanced Casio. It's like the Casio of my childhood dreams. It's a computer on my wrist. It's a timepiece that can be customized to show exactly the info that I want.

I love it. I'm really hoping the Watch Ultra 2 is going to bring some amazing upgrades because I really want to upgrade.

I'm excited.

Galaxy Watch Ultra 2

Has there been any news about whether the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will have a display that can go down to 1 hertz? Didn't Samsung make Apple's latest display, and it goes down to 1 hertz for battery longevity? I think currently they don't do that even on the Galaxy Watch 8. I'm hoping the new one will get it.

Tab S11 Ultra 1tb, 16gb...One Ui 8.5 - Portugal

Downloading now! Excited to see how DEX mode has changed. Hopefully they have added the ability to use multi window shortcuts/favorites. On 8.0, the only way to create and use a multi window favorite setup is on the tablet mode. So I don't even use DEX because of this...and DEX on 8.0 the windows have much larger frames.

Really really really hoping that they've changed this....although, I still don't see a reason to use DEX, when have 3 windows open on tablet mode, I can use one handed operation + to instantly jump between apps and the other two apps stay in place.

I gave up my laptop a year ago and haven't looked back. I love this Tab. 5.1mm thin 14.6 display...16gb ram...It's ridiculous. When working...I usually pair it with a mx keys mini and mx master 3...my workflow is insanely fast.

Since I've started typing this, the download is at 49%. That being said, I haven't heard any news about DEX changing in any significant ways, so I'm not super hopeful. My expectations are quite low, so here we go. 52%..........
